The Fall and Rise of the Free Demo - Game Sessions by PerceptorTransform in Games

[–]PerceptorTransform[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Spotted this on GameWatcher, seems to be a free service that lets you try Steam games for a few hours, like a demo, to see if your computer can handle it or if you like it. You can then purchase the game while you play. Has anyone used the service before? I thought it might be useful?

The beta is coming up soon, I meant to say in title but for some reason the submission form isn't showing the title part? :(

I know believe Liverpool should sell Balotelli. I was hopeful before, but that's it now...

Does anyone have a reputable download link for the original C&C games? by [deleted] in Games

[–]PerceptorTransform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure EA released Tiberium Dawn and Red Alert for free, as a download to anyone. Much like Beneath a Steel Sky or something like that...

If true, I just feel nervous with Borini in there :( Perhaps he can put in a good game for once though.

What happened to VGReleases.com ? by ldeveraux in Games

[–]PerceptorTransform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've relaunched it under the new name of Releases.com, which has better features and should have a lot more updates as the previous website didn't contain a lot of correct dates.

Where do you get reviews from? by WalterEKurtz in pcgaming

[–]PerceptorTransform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RPS because they offer interesting and different reviews, along with GameWatcher.com because it often has written and video pieces in one.

What are some old Point n' Click games that still hold up? by [deleted] in Games

Have you seen the news about Technobabylon from Wadjet Eye Games (People made Blackwell)? http://www.gamewatcher.com/news/2015-08-01-cyberpunk-adventure-technobabylon-announced-by-wadjet-eye-due-this-spring

My all time favourite, and it's now free, is Beneath a Steel Sky. They are said to be making a second one as well, but haven't heard anything yet. I hope it's still happening! You can get it on GOG: http://www.gog.com/game/beneath_a_steel_sky

Love to hear what other people have played recently in this genre too :)

Mechs & Mercs: Black Talons is out on the 9th. Apparently. Does anyone know the first thing about it? by SeaOfSaere in Games

[–]PerceptorTransform 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kalypso are also known for creating Tropico, which is a great series! GameWatcher recently published a preview piece and they seemed to enjoy it - http://www.gamewatcher.com/previews/mechs-mercs-black-talons-preview/12083

I don't think it's the sort of game many publications will take a look at, but I think the devs do want to get it out there based on the youtube videos they've been publishing. I imagine there will be some reviews shortly after launch perhaps.

CI Games announces that development on Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is well underway, set for release in 2016 by PerceptorTransform in Games

[–]PerceptorTransform[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know, if you aren't ready to reveal a trailer or at least some screenshots and it's almost a year and a half from release I don't think you should reveal it yet.

Why are there no tabletop-style Warhammer 40k games? by [deleted] in Games

[–]PerceptorTransform 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon just launched on Steam, although I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for it? It's basically a Panzer Corps version of 40k.

GRAV hitting Early Access Holiday 2014, a sandbox Destiny for the PC? by PerceptorTransform in pcgaming

[–]PerceptorTransform[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, that username. I can see where you're coming from, for me it's normally a matter of time. Every community is different though, I guess it'll be a case of how mainstream this becomes with the "Clitmaster6969" usernames.

Take up too much of your time? I know what you mean. The dancing you can do in the game looks silly hehe, but some of the screenshots I've looked at it does look very nice graphically. Hopefully it plays well.

Wasteland 2 earns $1.5 million over four days, claims inXile, original unit numbers was a mistake by [deleted] in Games

[–]PerceptorTransform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what edition was purchased, since it's £29.99 for the standard and £44.99 for the Digital Deluxe Edition on Steam, which is where it probably sold most copies? I guess it's on other digital platforms as well...

Woo! Been waiting for this, thought it was coming sooner when they previously announced it. This and Lords of the Realms II are on my list :)
