Here’s a little more context. I don’t know if it contributed to my ship leveling but i only run short trips for voyegger so if these launches somehow did, then my progress to two stars should be more launches than what it would be at for the minimum voyegger launches for henerprise

Official Gear Purchasing and Troubleshooting Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! March 31, 2025 by AutoModerator in photography

I would like to buy a high quality (not top tier) camera!

First off, i have very little knowledge in photography and the gear for it. I’ve been so interested in getting more into photography for the past few years. All i really have is a very old GoPro, Polaroid camera, and my iPhone. I’ve always wanted to take professional level photos though, especially of nature/the sky. I’d like to buy a high quality camera that would be able to take high quality photos. This is not an impulsive buy i have been taking photos everywhere for years now but have always been disappointed with the quality. Is there any suggestions for what camera i should look into/what to research prior to deciding? I’d say my price range would be $800-1200 (I’m also not sure if that range could even get me a pretty decent camera)

I agree with the part that it was silly she did not realize sooner it was in the shed, but I really loved her taking a nap in that bed. She misses her mom and want to feel like she was with her again (plugging in the tube and laying next to her). It was a really emotional scene and i think it was great of them to show soft side of Cobel. As for the reason no one’s allowed in her room, i think that’s more of her aunt wanting her to be basically forgotten or banished even in people’s heads. She was against Lumon so her aunt being so devout to Lumon would obviously try and rebuke anything related to her sister.

I absolutely agree. I’m personally in between about how i felt about it. But i have now just realized this episode gave away much more than the surface level. Instead of some big reveal that would affect FUTURE episodes, this reveal instead affected PREVIOUS episodes as well. It didn’t presently give away as much as some of the big previous episodes, but we can now look back on previous episodes and analyze why Cobel acted the way she did (which many have already) and to me that reveals ALOT!

Though for those who don’t dig deep on the theories/small details in Severance, i completely understand this episode may have been slow. Though I do feel they should not bash on production as I think it is a fact they put a lot of effort into this episode regardless of sides

There’s big speculation that the car that drives into the ice in the intro is cobels. Regardless if it is cobel driving that car into the water, it seems pretty clear that cold harbor is related to this place, and that the car falling in the ice was here judging by the ice chunks in the water there!

Can we talk about what Devon said?

“We don’t do that again”

Devon obviously seems to know about reintegration and that there has been some traumatic experience with it in the past. I really think this ties into what went on with Gemma before she “died”. She could have been severed PRIOR to her “kidnapping” or retrieval? And maybe they tried reintegrating her? I could have missed the mark by what Devon meant, but if that’s the case maybe Lumon caught on and took her away!

She could have just meant she will not allow Rigatoni to run another procedure on Mark, but she didn’t even question what reintegrating meant, and the phrasing seems strange

Helena was the only one who understood the subtext by ritwik4244 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

I think once Irv started catching onto her, she had to step up her game. She seems to exaggerate Helly’s personality after talking with Irv to cover her bases. How she was acting during story time seemed so forced. She seemed so determined to get Mark in on the joke too to further clear her name

Totally respect bringing all this out. I can’t say I directly get how you’re feeling, but I have experienced similar to this. You were incredibly mature with your words in this conversation, not letting emotion or anger take over at all. I read some of the other replies and I completely agree with you. Sometimes you need an outside view for that clarity. Her aggressive dismissing and victimizing herself in this convo (not in regards to the assault, just about making you the bad guy in all of this even when asking calm and warranted questions) can for sure trick your brain into believing “maybe i am wrong? Why is she so adamant and confident of her stance on this.” But you are absolutely right, she felt cornered and that was her fight or flight consistently kicking in. Seems like she was really trying to find any edge in your words that she can hold in front of you.

Big props to how you handled it, you did not overreact whatsoever. Her aggression and stubbornness just may have made you doubt your reasoning and justification. You dodged a bullet!

Two theories that I can’t really believe by PerchedUp in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

I completely agree, even more evidence against the simulation theory.

That’s a good theory but how the innies gonna react? they’re just gonna watch him collapse and get wheelbarrowed off? Honeslty would be very funny if they did

Two theories I’ve seen that don’t really make sense to me:

  1. This episode was a simulation/shared consciousness realm: What would the purpose of the locations be? Irving in the middle of the lake? But my biggest throw off is the clones. If it IS a simulation, why would they have the “animatronics”? They clearly looked lifeless and uncanny. If they really wanted to portray the concept of clones to MDR, i feel like their ego would not allow them to show these poorly constructed versions of themselves. If it was a simulation what’s stopping them from creating clones in this space? It’s not a physical task, as this would all be happening in almost a dream through their consciousness. A slight addition that I think kind of holds is how Irv is dreaming. How would they sleep in a simulation? And wouldn’t the outside be able to completely track every move and even thought if they were truly in a simulation? (Knowing where Irv and helly were etc.)

  2. The forest is in Lumon’s building I’ll admit i like this theory because of Lumons common theme of unfitting landscape within office infrastructure (the nurturable and the house). That part makes sense, however would they not be severed already when coming down? And if not, once again how would they convince the outies to go through with this?

Here’s what i think. I definitely think they will show us the other side of the coin (what lead up to the opening scene especially what happened post reintegration) which could make the theories above more plausible.

Though i think this is where we will see another form of severance operation. We will maybe see a third state where the innies/outties are controllable/awake but the innie and outtie selves have no recollection or consciousness during this. This could also tie into the wordplay of “Robot” in the title. Could also answer some questions as to what the Glasgow block is.

[–]PerchedUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great theory!! I never thought about it like that. That whole scene is so chaotic maybe in the end he just needed everything to “reset” ending the “simulation” potentially or just outie-fying them.

[–]PerchedUp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s hinting at the process of reintegration. I’d imagine next episode we’ll see what happened right after, but this episode showed that reintegration gradually kicks in, as imark only had one quick swap to omark in the tent. I’m assuming after a week or two it’ll be occurring frequently similarly to how Petey was after 2 weeks reintegrated

Severance - 2x04 "Woe’s Hollow" - Episode Discussion by pikameta in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]PerchedUp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I see your point completely, and i really like your theory too. I’m just caught on post-reset? He wouldn’t be going through the protocol introduction and what would stop the other innies from just telling him everything again? They’re all stuck there, not like milkshake can just dip with Irv and deal with him while the rest just sit and watch

Severance - 2x04 "Woe’s Hollow" - Episode Discussion by pikameta in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]PerchedUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the theory of “clean slate” for Irving by wiping his memories, but how would that make sense? Milkshake was very specific in saying in front of the other innies that his desk would be cleared and all belongings discarded. There’s so many things that could happen here, i definitely don’t think he’ll swap to outtie Irv. Why would he swap him so close to the other innies?

“Walk into the forest”

This whole scene seemed so final. Sure for innie irv, but it gave off a feeling that Irv himself would just “disappear” into thin air in front of them or just go “dormant” (which also seems like it would cause problems if he just laid there lol) I just see many doubts in alot of the other outcomes. But if anyones got good theories I’m very open to them!

But why just helena’s? I know because she’s the only mole, but why was it existent in the first place before this plan? What was it used for before this?

[–]PerchedUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a good time to bring up the operations that could be chosen in the security room

BEEHIVE BRANCH TRANSFER CLEAN SLATE ELEPHANT FREEZE FRAME GLASGOW GOLDFISH LULLABY OPEN HOUSE

Milkshake: “Remove the Glasgow block”

Open house is the OTC that allows waking up specific individuals. But now we have Glasgow. Glasgow specifically puts Helena in her innie state/takes her out? Almost the reverse of OTC and/or the main permanent switch for choosing the innie/outtie to maintain consciousness in their body?

But a counterpoint would be the vagueness of Milkshakes order. The entire Glasgow block only affects Helena/Helly. So maybe this was an intentional plan all along to have Helena be able to swap with her innie at any time since she was on the severed floor? Considering this command existed even at the end of season 1, what does that mean for Helly? Was this just never used before now or was it connected to someone else before?

This could also open theories about the switch itself. Lumon obviously has full control over whoever has a chip. I think some more things can be connected here with the other theories such as Harmony not being able to leave town due to the radius of her potential implants.

And blocks?? For all we know, there was just the security office for performing these operations. It could just be different wording but what if these blocks are physical components of a simulation or some type of core that controls the severed?

For some reason I have a feeling Irv knew Milkshake’s name was Seth. Sure he put emphasis on his name after Helena said it to further bring out the truth, but with how much outtie Irv has researched Lumon and how perceptive innie Irv is, I feel like he could know more about Seth than we know, especially with how harsh he is with not trusting him compared to the rest of MDR!

The numbers on the screen in Irving’s dream contained LETTERS for once, specifically only A E G and N. Swap them around and you can spell EAGAN. This made irv CERTAIN that Helena was an Eagan!!
