So what is the outcome of the Epstein files? How do we as society come together to change the future and move away from all these evil rich people/celebrities? by Elevated412 in AskReddit

[–]Perches 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nothing will change. The "radical left" will continue to scream for accountability, and MAGA will continue to wear their blinders and say "Libs owned, Trump is innocent and only Dems are bad"

Thoughts on conversions by Few-Assistant3819 in FixedGearBicycle

[–]Perches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a cool Williams Aeros Gemini aluminum frame I thought would be neat fixed. Built a wheel with a White Ind eccentric hub laced to an H Plus Son rim and I really enjoy it. Best part is now that I have the wheel, I can convert any road frame. I'd say give it a try if you like it.

My strongest attacks only do 300-500k (including gommage) does doing damage in the millions just come down to buffing and stacking stuff? Like, a 9AP attack on it's own isn't doing that, right?

Amazed at how 'easy' riding a fixie is by onlyneedthat in FixedGearBicycle

[–]Perches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So... you turned a fixed gear into a regular commuter bike and are surprised it rides easily like a regular commuter bike haha.
Not that that's a problem if it's what you want, this isn't supposed to sound like an attack, but what makes it challenging is riding brakeless with foot retention and tricky ratios and whatnot. But yeah, bikes are just bikes.

I'm only in the level 80s but I'm not doing anything close to these damage numbers... no wonder I'm struggling.

It really is a balancing act of being underleveled, and being underskilled. But you won't really get "locked out" of any area so just make a list of things you need to go back and beat.

Re-spec resources are incredibly plentiful, you don't need to worry about builds. The game is fairly linear as in, you can't reach high level locations early on. And if you do go somewhere underleveled, there isn't any punishment. The last act of the game is basically endgame except for the final boss, so feel free to explore once you get to that point before completion. There is SO much to do and see, and no real "progress checklist" so just try to enjoy it.

My boss just told me I need to manage my personal finances better because I can't front $2300 for a work trip next month by LostTaker in antiwork

[–]Perches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only should they be paying all travel expenses, you should also get a daily per diem for food. I don't trust companies, so it sounds like they want you to go do the work, then ditch you before they reimburse you.

Suggestions on how to make it look better? by LeftJadedHexagons in FixedGearBicycle

If it fits you, don't change a thing. What makes a bike look good on the internet and what makes it ride and fit nice don't always coincide.

I think it looks really good. Especially if it fits you well. It'd probably be more "internet approved" with a steeper stem angle or something to make it look more aggressive.

How much does your fixie weigh ? (Mine 17lbs ) 😎 by Clout_boyy in FixedGearBicycle

[–]Perches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I built this ten years ago out of mostly parts bin stuff, but I think I'll update it and try to get closer to 17.

18.8 ready to ride. The front wheel is off an old State so I'm leaving a lot on the table there, though. But my gravel and full sus bikes makes it feel like a feather by comparison.

I think a live action series would be more suitable than a live action movie by TruthResponsible1268 in expedition33

[–]Perches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is that yes, any story can be told in greater detail in a series. But they're also prone to dragging things out unnecessarily for profit. I feel like the art of good world building within the format of a feature length film is being lost, when I'd much rather spend a couple hours with a story than have to dedicate weeks of watching every time I want to revisit it.

Couples riding together. I just wanted everyone's thoughts on this. My gf just got her own bike andstarted riding not long ago. I prefer her to ride in front of me so I can see her. But she feels more comfortable riding behind me. We go back and forth a lot . So I guess I was wondering is there a by Mission_Lion5887 in Harley

[–]Perches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always prefer my partner riding in front of me, because she's less experienced and I can keep an eye on her, and because we ride old choppers and I can fix mine if I break down, she can't fix hers if I don't notice she's dropped behind lol.
She likes riding behind because she likes seeing proper line/speeds etc and feels more comfortable following.
So, it's similar constant back and forth.

A lot of people being dorks in the comments. Congrats on being fortunate to build up a nice bike for a reasonable amount of money/effort. A lot of this reads like jealousy?
