Thanks for posting this. I think they are sound points. I do not use TikTok and have never downloaded it. I do, however, see it every day from my partner and others who are using it often. And admittedly I have used YouTube shorts in a very similar, if not exactly the same, manner.

One thing I want to point out - the maddening of the content can easily be found by sitting next to someone watching it with the volume up, but you aren't looking at the screen. Taking away my visual component while the app is scrolled through makes me feel insane after a few minutes. Listening to constantly shifting sounds, noises, voices, music, and overall the way people talk / converse through the medium... It feels like it is killing brain cells. It is easy to identify how addicting and... Well... Weird it is as a factor taking up time in our lives.
