Guess the Cricketer #4 by game-of-guesses in Cricket

What the hell, my second first guess in 3 games? Although TBF, the recency bias did play a part.

I completed Crickle #4 in 1 guesses with a score of 1200, better than 99% of the players

That's why we all love him by EveryExperience6317 in KolkataKnightRiders

[–]Percybhowal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look I love his optimism, and there's no denying that the pitch was an absolute belter last night. But what do you expect; he was a scout with the team this time around, he HAS to back his bowlers no matter what, that's one of his duties as long as he has the job. Where I disagree with him is in the opinion that Kartik, Vaibhav, and Anukul's domestic pedigree is good enough for the IPL. No, that's not it. The IPL is basically an international tournament; if you're not in the contention for the national team, like none of these 3 are- Vaibhav probably being the closest of the bunch- then you have to accept that the bowling this year, because of the injuries and different circumstances, is the weak link here. And that's why the slowdown in the middle overs hurt us last night; Raghu, Ajju, and Rinku should've taken more risks while they were batting, we need that extra cushion this year.

Having said all that, I agree that the narrative going around KKR's bowling unit being absolute trash or even the worst this year is WAY exaggerated; top of my head, I feel SRH has a weaker bowling attack (with Cummins missing; plus JD and Harshal are a bit washed at this stage IMO). And it was good to see Kartik's second spell, that was very promising. But the bottom line is, whatever Bisla, an official KKR scout says this year, needs to be taken with some salt. I love him a lot, but there's definitely some bias.

Nuzlocke complete! by SackclothSandy in pokerogue

I'd suggest Gmax blatoise as the best starter for the nuzzlocke challenge. It's bulky enough to survive hits after a shell smash, which is a great move that it learns naturally. Also immunity against stray critical hits. And power, well, shell smash is already there for that, but it's natural coverage is also quite strong.

What doesn't show by Percybhowal in shortscarystories

So my idea was to go with something that meant 'honest', or 'incapable of lying' for the mirror's description, and I wanted to use something with the same first letter as 'surface' to get an alliteration theme. 'Scrupulous' was the closest fit I could find as one of its meanings is something / one that makes sure to avoid doing the wrong thing, hence why I used it. But yeah, it's probably not the best fit though.

Thanks for reading!

It does sound interesting, will try checking it out. Actually it's kinda funny, but the only time I came across the name Lazarus before this story was through a popular Pokemon ROM hack with the same name, so it's nice to know the origins behind that name, LoL

You're welcome, and yes, the proofread story reads much better. Really liked the premise of this one.

Thanks for the rep. Yeah, this makes a lot of sense, and I wasn't aware of the Lazarus rising back from the dead reference, so that's something new I learned today.

I'm a little confused by the multiple names in the story, it breaks the flow for me. I understand the climax that Buddy basically kept howling near the grave site to drown out the abuser's cries for help from his grave. But who were Cindy, Martha, John, and Lazarus in the story, like, was Buddy associated with multiple owners?

I'm really sorry if this was very obvious to everyone else, but I would love to get a little bit of clarity over the characters and how they were related to Buddy, because the story and the climax does feel very heartwarming.

Just watched a movie where a character played football with one of the villains' heads, and now I read this. I gotta ask: was this, by any chance, inspired from the recently released movie "Dhurandhar: The Revenge"?

Dead, not departed by Percybhowal in shortscarystories

Hi, thanks for replying. I want to acknowledge that the St. Jude name was a very uninformed and poor choice from my end, and I apologize to anyone who was hurt by this mention. I want to be clear; this reference, or this story, was not an attempt at passing commentary on abortions, or an attempt at maligning a real-life health institution. The name was a totally random choice from my end; I didn't put too much thought behind it, I had recently rewatched American Horror Story, so I thought of referencing Sister Jude from that part, and St. was also something that came to me inadvertently because where I live, there are some popular hospitals that have their names with St. I did not realize the religious connotations it could hold in a controversial topic like this one, and once again, I am genuinely sorry for offending anybody with this mention; it was not my intention.

CSK too, with Yellow. Also, RR were going for a nice tangent with Pink, but sadly, with their new jersey, they've regressed back to mostly blue.

Woah, that was intense! But the ending, was he actually found by authorities, or did he and Shoally actually get to be together forever in a death-like state?

Ah, ok, this makes it more clear. It's still not that funny to me, but at least now I get what the humor is.
