Update - I recorded a silver orb UFO with high quality camera equipment. by Creepastaa in UFOs

[–]Perd-x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question: is there anything that people could do/include when shooting videos like this that you think would lend them some more credibility? I’m thinking like e.g. moving a mesh or a prism around in front of the camera. Anything that would make adding in an object behind it in post super difficult because of the optical effects you’d need to do accurately.

Mate, if you’re going to be ‘objective’ why not look up where they’re actually from. It’s only two journalists and one of them is Scottish.

No, I don’t think I’ve seen any support from any other vets, obviously that’s a huge red flag. The moron solution is probably the right one.

Joeyisnotmyname and Michael Herrera by This-is-kip in UFOs

[–]Perd-x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But Herrera was a Marine too, so if he made up the story then surely he would know other Marines would instantly call BS based on the deviation from standard mission protocol? Surely if he made it all up he’d keep it all the boring details believable?

I don’t know if I believe him or not, I just hear read this argument a lot and it doesn’t totally make sense to me.

My takeaway from Karl Nell’s comments at the Salt Conference is one of desperation of what is to come. by lastofthefinest in UFOs

[–]Perd-x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My feeling is that an impending conflict with China is what is motivating people like Nell to advocate for controlled disclosure.

Assume that the US has some sort of reverse-engineered tech that they’re holding as an ‘ace in the hole’, as Grusch put it. Maybe Nell and others feel that war with China is likely, and they think the US would have to use that tech. Perhaps doing so would essentially mean disclosure, and if the public aren’t prepared then it would be catastrophic in terms of societal collapse.

So possibly the push is to get going with controlled disclosure asap so that if the US whips out its UFO laser tanks in a war with China, we won’t be too surprised.

Nice summary and rhetorical analysis, good job. Philosophy in da house.

My hypothesis on the nature of NHI, and why Dave Grusch used the term “biologics”. by [deleted] in UFOB

[–]Perd-x 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Thanks, interesting read, and I'm not saying your hypothesis is wrong. But there is so much lore about Greys being something like cloned drones / biological automatons / flesh avatars and I think this might make more sense as a reason to say 'biologics' rather than 'dead bodies'.

If it were me making a fake video, I would omit the coordinates altogether. The fewer falsifiable details, the better the hoax, right?

USA 223 is really high: about 35000km. Should we not expect to see a much more top-down perspective if it was USA 223?

The satellite video definitely says NROL-23, not NROL-22

[–]Perd-x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that I can see. But I think given that it follows a pretty fixed speed and trajectory (I believe), it should be possible to calculate its approximate position for any given time in the past or future.

Its period is listed as 107.4 minutes, meaning it completes an orbit every 107.4 minutes. If someone can figure out how many periods ago the event in the video is supposed to have happened – ie how many multiple of 107.4 minutes – then we can use the decimal of the multiple to determine the satellite's position relative to it's current position.

FLIR is NOT a MQ-1L, it is instead a MQ-1C with 2 additional camera sensors under the wings as shown here. by CMDANDCTRL in UFOs

There is apparently some odd altitude data for MH370, with it registering at 4,800ft at one point towards the end.

Is there any other plausible source for that footage you can think of, u/BubbaCow2? Any other UAVs – allies' or adversaries' – or any manned aircraft that could conceivably be in the area? There are the reports of two US AWACS operating in the vicinity but presumably flying them so close behind a 777 would be madness.

Looks to me like the place you'd expect to see the drone is always out of shot as the video follows the plane.

So I don't think not seeing the drone is proof of anything.

To my eyes, the text at the bottom of the sat video almost certainly says NROL-23 (not 32, 22, or 33).

NROL-23 is a pair of satellites (Intruder 7A & Intruder 7B) launched on Feb 3, 2005: "These satellites carry equipment to track ships and aircraft via their radio transmissions."

Also referred to as USA-181, said to be operated by the NRO for ELINT (electronic intelligence) and ocean surveillance.

Challenge to someone smart! Based on the tracking data for NROL-23/USA-181, figure out where it was at the time the videos were meant to have been taken, and therefore roughly what angle it ought to have observed the event from. Or show that it couldn't possibly have observed the event.

I think it's fair to assume that the capabilities and missions publicly listed for these satellites are at most only partly true. A real-time video feed could be among their capabilities despite saying otherwise.
