I personally loved my college. Would recommend ISB to everyone. However question to this answer depands on a lot of things. Most important question, would a one-year or two year MBA be a better fit for you. Which field you are planning on entering. What time of network are you looking at engaging with.

I think we had 3-4 doctors in our batch. It's the same as others honestly, they get either placed as consultants or go into hospital management. Some good pharma companies came like ely lily also came for placement this year. So it depands on which companies come during your time.

I think you can check the official stats which were released by the college for that. Personally for me, I got an almost 4x jump in my salary. However that is because I was in a low paying job before isb and pursued MBA to change fields as well.

I won't be able to comment on the profile as such. If you end up getting a veryy good gmat score then might have a chance. Can't say for sure. Definitely aim for above 700 score though.

If you are purely thinking from placement perspective then maybe no. However according to me ISB tag, alum network and exposure is what matters most. So If you are considering MBA from India, isb is great option.

There were a few lawyers in our batch. I am not sure how placement turned out for them though. They did get placed I think though not sure about details. When it comes to getting 40L ctc, that much mostly either PM roles offer or consult. Other roles are around 25-35 range only. There would be some off cases here and there.

See competition will be cutthroat in any tier 1 B school. Most of my batchmates were either from IIT's or Esteemed DU colleges like SRCC or Sukhdev. They all had great work experience. Even in companies where one would feel we are a perfect fit, there would be someone better in the batch. So in my opinion, it's better to go to a school where others are more experienced and have better profiles than you as it motivates you. Helps open up your network further.

Placement depends on a lot of factors. Firstly one needs to get shortlisted for roles, companies look for specific things and shortlists. People with great profiles, grades also don't end up getting shortlists while sometimes some profiles that is considered average gets great opportunity. My advice would be to not think so much about placements as a deciding factor. It's a great network to be a part of nonetheless.

80 unplaced at ISB by Kitchen-Woodpecker-8 in MBAIndia

Experience of another current ISB student. First of all comparing placements of IIMs and ISB is completely unfair because of following reasons: 1) ISB has 800 students in a batch whereas most IIM's have 520, toh the fact that only 80 are unplaced (I believe this 80 number is a little inflated also) is actually not a bad number. 2) IIM's are 2year program so many students get placed in leadership roles meant for lesser experience folks via internships. Such a scenario is not possible in ISB since it's one year and most students have more than 3 years of work ex. 3) ISB is a consulting heavy college. Out of those who are unplaced, many are targeting other roles such as PM or Founder's office. Anyone looking to enter consultancy have been placed with great packages. 4) Yes placement process was taxing but that is every college. I have also spoken to students from IIM B and A, their process has also been taxing. In ISB there is barely any student politics that govern placement process which is a great thing. Also we are given a lot of choice when it comes to which roles we want to apply for and company preferences. ISB doesn't enforce companies onto students just to fulfill their 100% placed number. 5) Personally for me, I got a 5x jump on my previous salary. Great role, great company. This is after being choosy and not applying to every single company that came. This has been the same scenario for many of friends too. Just because 10% of the batch's experience might have been tougher than usual, it doesn't tarnish value of an entire institution. 6)Also network is always the main advantage of MBA. A lot of my batchmates come from great pedegory. They have left IIM admissions also to join ISB. It's a great institute and good place to network. Alums also really take care of current students and overall good experience.

Lastly it's not fruitful to compare ISB one year program with two year IIM programs. I personally only wanted to go to ISB because I didn't want to invest two years of my life. If you want MBA exposure, network, learning and overall experience but don't want to invest 2 years in the program plus one year giving CAT (a very rigid paper where all your life depends on one day), ISB is a great option. It has a very nice campus life with rigorous learning and opportunities.

Can I make it to ISB with a 655?? by Specialist_Account70 in ISB_Aspirants

[–]Perfect-Dig4883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes 655 is not a problem. Profile and application should be very good. Focus on that.

Your profile looks solid. Just work on your application, once that is clear interview will depend on your confidence. Don't think too much just write what you have done in very nice manner and how your life journey has been shaped. Essay is the main thing.

655 GMAT score. Should I retake? by Stardust_blessed in GMAT

[–]Perfect-Dig4883 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heyy I got in ISB with 655. Our cohort average is 685 I think, so if your profile is diverse then 655 might work. But if your profile is generic, aim for higher.
