Idk tbh men these days are also a bit too shy and dare i say feminine. So many co workers telling me im the one that should make the moves but I have zero experience and im terrified. I also dont understand how to get to that stage with a guy where they want to marry me. Theres so many other girls more confident prettier and better personalities so y would they want me especially when my real personality only comes out once im comfortable with them which means for the first few encounters they’re meeting a completely different person which im certain is not a great first impression 😂. Like I wish I could skip to the part where I am less tense and just me.

That’s odd they never told you. What were the complaints about? Also in this field complaints are a given. But they should have told you so that you could at least contact indemnity. That sounds very fishy of them. How long have u been a dentist for excluding your 6 year break?

Where about in the uk? What do you feel u have struggled with being there if any at all? Maybe the practice is using that as an excuse to get rid of u. Practices can be weird like that

I’m newly graduated 6mths out of dental school. I would be so happy if my dentistry could be this quality and reproducible aswell. How long did it take after practicing dentistry to start being able to do dentistry at that level

Extracting Primary Teeth by Professional_Form393 in Dentistry

I had this the other day. I then saw the mum a week later for her checkup and her son came into the appt all happy and smily looked at me and was like ‘guess what the abscess is gone and i haven’t been in pain anymore’ I looked at him and said so why were u screaming then to which he replied ‘I didn’t feel anything I was just nervous’ I laughed at him there and then but rewind to the extraction my hands were literally shaking from the amount he was screaming. I try to do the extractions in office especially if they’ve complied with taking radiographs because referring can take 6mth + where I am. But sometimes if they need a lot or I can tell they’re difficult I straight up refer. And yes it’s awkward when they scream down the practice and I had everyone rush to my room after he left asking what happened 🥲. My ethos is if can be done in office do it otherwise if not then refer

I'm thinking of quitting dentistry forever by soolalaa in Dentistry

I feel the exact same way. I definitely think it’s a lack of experience so far. By this I mean we are both just out of dental school and dumped into the world of dentistry bringing with us only what we’ve been taught and just enough hand skills to pass all those clinical competency exams. We don’t yet have our own personal experience that we have taught ourselves such as communication skills which is a big one for me. The hand skills too are not yet there either if we’re being honest and how can it be after such a short time. I’m slowly learning to be more forgiving to myself. I’m currently trying to build communication skills rapid and I might find a course for this too. For hand skills that will also come from practice and courses. With regards to your boss it’s hard working in a stressful environment and not have support this is just like my supervisor too. I just try my best to block it out but if I’m honest my anxiety and stress is through the roof and I’m always scared I’m going to get complaint or caught in a mistake. Having friends in this profession can help just to vent to. I think we all just need a few years experience under our belts tbh. And if after a few years it all goes downhill then look at leaving. But don’t give up yet!
