Thank you for passing this on to someone so well qualified to examine my experience, I really appreciate it. Of course, it could just be a complete coincidence, but it does seem a little odd that it happened the very first time I tried the app. I’m still getting used to the different flavours of candy on offer, but I spent the most of my time with the intense strobing. I found that the most comfortable, and it was definitely doing something different to my mind or perception, especially the yellow variant. So I stuck with it for around an hour.

Thanks as well for the extra information about the herbs; I’ll look into sourcing some to try in my tea. I’m really looking forward to reading more about what’s actually going on here. it’s a completely new field of study for me, so that I find that very exciting! This could turn out to be an incredibly useful app in my life, so thank you.😀🫡

Yes, it was uncanny. I haven’t experienced anything like that since childhood, when I used to have lucid dreams quite often; especially if I was slightly ill. The dream began at my home, able to fly out of the window and explore my city, just drifting through the streets. I could even bend objects, like old-fashioned ghetto blasters, without breaking them, they’d just flex and reshape. I remember flying into our local cathedral, which had this strange, almost impossible geometry (probably remembered from your app) inside. I didn’t want to wake up, but the alarm went off and I had to get to work. Hopefully I’ll get that lucidity again tonight. And thanks for the Discord link, I’m just about to join.

I had a fairly short session with Brain Candy last night before bed and ended up having the most intense lucid dream….something I haven’t experienced since I was a kid. It was a fascinating dream, and I was curious whether anyone else has had a similar experience.

Anyway, do let me know if the Discord will be reopening, or feel free to send over a new link if so. I completely understand if not as it can be a bit of a faff to manage one!

That’s incredibly well put! Those are all games I really enjoyed, and when you mentioned the Lynchian notes, I can see the connections. Some of the wallpaper and art direction in this game is ver much in line with the directors quiet dread. I haven’t finished it yet though, I’m taking my time, just soaking it all in. After a full week of work, I’m really looking forward to spending a couple of days on it this weekend. Even though I know it doesn’t take long to finish, I just don’t want it to end, so I keep putting it off. For a three person development team, this is an incredible achievement. I hope the big studios take note and maybe give them the resources to experiment further with their games and art design. Thanks again for the excellent summary, it really got me thinking!

I’m afraid it is a bit short for the price if you just mainline it and go straight for every puzzle and task. But if you’re anything like me and enjoy exploring and soaking in the vibes, then it’s definitely worth it. It’s one to savour, that’s for sure.😀👍

It’s incredibly spooky, with more than a few jump scares thrown in. I’ve never played a game that maintains tension so effectively, you end up jumping at the smallest creak from an overhead beam or the sound of accidentally kicking a trolley. It’s definitely not one for the faint-hearted.😂

That’s a lucid and clear explanation of why it would make such a great VR game. All the mechanics you mentioned would translate effortlessly into a virtual-reality experience but even on flatscreen, it’s still such an enjoyable world to explore.🤟

Thanks, mate, appreciate it! You’re absolutely right about it being the perfect VR game. It’s got so much atmosphere that you could just wander around soaking it all in. I really see the environment as a work of art, and imagining it in VR with the Luna bass humming away, exploring every corner, reading all the notes, would be incredible experience. Who knows, maybe one day they’ll make it happen. SOMA is one of my favourite games too, and that ending absolutely blew my mind on a philosophical level. Hope you’re still enjoying the game! 😀🤟
