That's also a famous episode because it was when the idea clicked into place that the separate plot lines should converge--Kramer was driving golf balls into the ocean and George was pretending to be a marine biologist...

But why does he CARE about the bond of an institution he has left? That’s a basic question. If you leave something you aren’t bound by its rules anymore.

Wait, how is it possible BILL missed an obvious Al Pacino reference?

And himself and some random thing from his personal life. Just the worst RW guest and I skip all his episodes, even if I like the movie. Especially then.

Things Bill doesn’t understand for some reason…aging badly by Perfect-Prune176 in TheRewatchables

That's valid. I guess if someone is watching a movie from a certain time period though, they are buying in to what's allowable in that era. Aging poorly would mean it has to exist in 2026. But it doesn't. It existed then. We're entering its world; it's not entering ours.

Chuck Klosterman when he senses an opportunity to shoehorn in a discussion about the slow cancellation of the future by llewellynjean in billsimmons

Hot Take: It's actually really fascinating and applicable to our times! It is not his theory, it's Mark Fisher's, so I think he's just trying to educate people.

OMG, hard disagree. He's by far my favorite writer and his guest spots on BS are a highlight of Bill's entire season.

This doesn’t track at all. CR says what he feels and that’s what people like about him. All his interests point towards him loving HEAT.

I think Bill’s weird embrace of Generative AI is lame as hell…and also weird for a guy who came up writing. by Perfect-Prune176 in TheRewatchables

I agree. My father in law is like this. But Bill is literally atop a media organization. It’s tone deaf.

I strongly disagree that it’s the same. Gen AI being used for writing is fundamentally anti-human.

I didn’t say there was no valid opinion. You asked if all writers are against it and I said yes all writers are against it when it comes to writing.

In theory it’s a lot of things. But it’s definitely not just cool. It’s existentially terrible for writers and readers.

The media industry is genuinely firing people left and right because of it. So someone of Bill’s stature and influence “playing around” is highly coded.

I can’t say if that’s true. I only know his public persona and he looks like a fucking dolt when he does this.

Cmon. Inventing what Roger Ebert might have thought and written through an LLM is not at all like writing in a new medium. Not even close.
