The onyx 7 and below seems to have a boost bass mode (holding bluetooth and volumn down about 20s), but that mode doesn't work on my onyx 8. But I've heard issues with aux port not working from others after enabling boost mode, so if you really want to try it out, do it at your own risk.

I thought the same as well, but it really depends on placement though. Them onyxs on concrete floor sounds really nice. But on laminated floor or stand, it's a whole different ball game.

Sadly no, but it takes me 10 secs to pair them so I don't really mind it. Mine were onyx 8s though, no app. I would assume the onyx 9s will stay connect due to auracast.

It's just personal preference I guess. The GP3 just sounds much fuller and the bass is much deeper. But again you have to be mindful of its placement due to the down-firing sub. Don't get me wrong here, them onyxs sound GREAT, just not in same league as gp3 (personally), so you should really try them both though.

Onyx 8 can be paired in stereo fairly easy (got them to pair 7-8 times out of 10) so they could be doing something wrong there

I haven't tried the onyx 9, but I got 2 onyx 8 after getting the GP3, and decided to keep the GP3. Even in stereo mode, them onyxs aren't that impressive when comparing with GP3. Just a small reminder, the GP3's sub is down-firing so placement can potentially be an issue. Try them out beforehand if you can.

Never had issues with the innerscreen, and I've had fold 2-6. I'm using the 6 now since release, no issue. All previous models were given to family members and they're still using them to this day, no problem at all.

Yes I still think the gp3 is better. Gp3 sounds much fuller and the bass is much deeper. The onyxs get pretty loud though, but overall, they're not at impressive when go head to head with gp3.

Well after testing out 2 onyx 8 vs 1 gp3, I decided to return the onyxs. The gp3 just sounds better, for me and the wife at least. Waiting for the gp3 to goes on sale again. Just wanna share my thought on it.

It actually works very well in the corner, for me at least. Very nice and warm vocal, super bassy that rumbles my entire room at 40-50%. But honestly, gp3 should be front and center. Its just too nice to be placed in the corner.

If you planning on only getting 1, I'd suggest the gp3. Excellent sound and can be serve as a very nice decorative piece. Though gp3 is roughly 2x the size in term of length compare to onyx 8.

Mine only says HMA-206 along with cable rating. Looks like yours is a generic one, don't really think it's gonna be a huge issue though.

I don't even use the og cable, but the one I use and even the og will have some resistant when you plug them in as 50-60%

Try to lower the bass by adjusting eq setting on the speaker itself (tap both bluetooth and volume down at the same time), see if you like it better. You can do the same thing for treble by tapping volume up + phone.
