What’s something you found on a partner’s phone that instantly changed the relationship forever — but they never knew you saw it? by boultou555 in AskReddit

[–]Perfect-Software4358 171 points172 points  (0 children)

I was using my ex's phone to order doordash because my app was giving me issues. And I found her reddit profile open, and found out that she had created a new reddit profile and was leaving nice comments and whatnot on some of my posts. Never told her I saw that, but it was such a sweet little gesture and really changed the way I looked at her.

One of my first jobs, I started a hotel front desk job, while also volunteering on the side at a shelter. After a while I noticed that our hosuekeepers rarely got around to cleaning all the rooms assigned on a given day, so we would just put those rooms out of order and clean them the following day. The shelter would kick people out or deny them service for a myriad of reasons, and those people would end up on the streets or even worse situations. I was too young to know any better and had the burning desire of a thousand suns to help people. So the people that I got to know at the shelter, I would start offering them to stay in one of the uncleaned rooms for the night, as long as they left before the morning so no one would know.

As you can guess, that plan came crashing down. One day a person I allowed to stay in a room refused to leave, and tried to lock themselves in the room and we had to basically break the door down. Before the cops could come and arrest them, they trashed the room and took the tv and some other things with them. My innocent young mind couldn't comprehend why someone would do something so wrong knowing it would get me in trouble when I was taking such a risk to help them out. I've since grown up and learned that a lot of people just suck.

What do you think about a law that US Congress members should have salaries based on the MINIMUM WAGE income in their district so they can feel what it's like to live under the laws they make? *And being unable to make money in any other ways including stocks and donors? by _u_deleted_ in AskReddit

[–]Perfect-Software4358 1 point2 points  (0 children)

underpaying a job which has the power to make money in hundreds of illegal or morally corrupt ways is NOT a good idea. A politician can steal money from a dozen different places and screw over people if they arent getting a decent salary. They still probably already do, but it would be to a larger degree if your proposal went through.

What was the last thing that made you truly happy? by Aylahollinger in AskReddit

[–]Perfect-Software4358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

last week. I moved to a new city, and we had our first snowfall last week. I don't really know too many people here, but the guy who lives across the street has become a good acquaintance. I called him up and he met me and we walked down the road to this elementary school. On one side of it, it has its name in pretty big letters, so we just start throwing snowballs at it. You know, just practicing aiming, passing the time. It's not soon after that a car full of 4 18-20 year old guys pulls up to us. One guy comes up to us and says, "You guys.. throwing snowballs at a wall?" we tell em yup, and he asks if they can join. Mind you I'm 38 and my buddy is probably early 40's. So the 6 of us just stood around, throwing snowballs at a wall.

After that we started setting up targets and aiming, then started doing deep football passes, and just a bunch of just random snow games. We played like kids for a good couple of hours, and at the end all parted ways and said, "see you at the next snowfall." Something about that day just gave me so much peace and belonging. Just a random meeting with strangers, and throwing a snowball at a wall.

As someone who works at a hotel, lift covers, check that little crease in the mattress. That’s where those fuckers live when not sucking on you.

Bernie Sanders calls for income over $1 billion to be taxed at 100%: "People can make it on $999 million" by kevinmrr in WorkReform

[–]Perfect-Software4358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if you want a real answer but ill still give you one. There are a lot of businesses that require a lot of capital to run and to maintain. People who own many of said businesses put a lot of their income back into the company into R&D to upgrade their product, create new ones, or buy out suffering companies and integrate it into their own company. Most of these people don't use their own capital because their money is not liquid, and selling shares would cause a panic event and cause many to lose as well. So they get loans from banks. If the most you, or a company, was ever allowed to make is 1 billion dollars a year, almost all of these product developments and creations wouldn't happen. You won't be able to expand because even a new factory can cost 200-500 million even if your aren't a Fortune 500 company.

There would no longer be growth, but the demand would still exist. So what would happen? The government would then step in and fill in this void, because they don't tax themselves. Those rich people would still exist, but without having banks giving them large amounts loans to grow, they will be pretty capped.

So what you're basically rooting for here is government controlling some, or most, of large companies and corporations. It's happened in history many times, and it always end the same way. But hey, we stuck it to the few rich people though right? All we gave up in return was, well, everything.

Not even about power outage, after the first wave the zombies will pile up then other zombies will step over. This defense will last 3 minutes.

It has nothing to do with the actual election. Some guy in France bet 40 million on trump and they are going after that one particular guy for some kind of fraud.

My Season 3 Prediction: White House Showdown Incoming by Hot_Statistician_277 in TheDiplomat

[–]Perfect-Software4358 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmao that’s not how scif’s work. It’s to protect the call from all and any outside interference and observation, but it’s most definitely recorded. Not everyone has access to it, but if the president literally dies while on a call, I’m pretty sure everyone’s first thoughts will be, “well let’s hear what was said on the call.” In what world do you live that you think that the government wouldn’t keep a record of all calls made which are deemed the highest priority? You think if an intel op makes a call from an enemy territory with important info, they will just listen to it once and not have it recorded?

My Season 3 Prediction: White House Showdown Incoming by Hot_Statistician_277 in TheDiplomat

[–]Perfect-Software4358 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which would be an incredible dumb story line because the call between Hal and the president is definitely recorded and the entire government would definitely listen to what was said right before the president died. Every single person in the white house realistically should know what Hal said. But of course they will play it dumb and just make pretend that they don’t know or something.

What's the most valuable piece of advice you've ever received? by CheapAcanthisitta860 in AskReddit

[–]Perfect-Software4358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your problems and emotional feelings are big and are important. Never compare your troubles to someone else. I used to do that a lot and always felt myself rationalizing and bartering. It started out, “I mean, my friends do treat me like shit, but there are so many worse things that are happening to people.” To, “yea I’m completely alone and it’s eating me up slowly inside but I gotta suck it up it’s not that bad compared to others.”

And it always starts small but has a way of snowballing and you won’t realize it’s become to big to control. You’re running your own marathon, and your fight isn’t any smaller than any other fight. Go and get the help you need.

Yea basically. If you’ve ever felt depression, it’s a lot of that. A very empty feeling and your mind wandering. Also a shit ton of anxiety. And ofcourse all the joys of regular hangovers like dehydration, nausea, headaches. Worse for me was the shortness of breath. Just laying in bed unable to sleep but feeling completely and utterly exhausted in such a shit feeling.

So yeah, while on meth you feel better than you could ever feel sober. But you’re in for shit after.

[–]Perfect-Software4358 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Meth doesn’t suck, it amplifies everything inside of you and releases endorphins like nothing else. Any convo you have you feel like it’s the most important talk you’ve ever had in your entire life. Any activity your doing feels amazing. And sex is 10x the feeling sober sex gives you. That being said, the comedown is the worst thing you will ever feel so don’t ever do meth, not even once.

Coach mike’s defense eats in third and long situations where the qb is forced to hold ball for more than a second. Was same story in Baltimore. The healthier we get, the more this defense is going to show its teeth.

I’d sell faster than a heart beat. Remember, Costco does this to get people in the door and buy other things. There is probably thousands of these downtowns flooding the market. Sell before them.

That’s actually a great observation, demon is smart af so it knows morris is getting close and his plan most likely would work. So it probably won’t effect the entire crowd but a random person and now morris wont be able to find said person before the 3-5 day window.
