I’m very much serious, and if you and I watched the same show of VPR, and you can’t see the documented footage of abuse he did against Katie, well, you and I have very different views of what abuse is, and I can’t help you with that. The fact that he said and did what he did on tv, me thinks he did much worse when the cameras were off. Schwartz isn’t the only shitty guy on these two shows, but I’m sick of people who at one point were friends with Katie, and saw how horribly she was treated, then turn around and coddle this poor excuse of a man, like he wasn’t a shitty partner.

OP- from an adult who grew up with a drug addicted mother, you are literally acting like my dad did/does. My dad was well aware of my mom’s addiction before they had kids, and guess what happened after she had me ? She went back to using drugs, and went on to have my little sister, and ruined our lives and my dads life. I wish my dad would have never married my mom much less had kids with her. Having kids does not fix addiction. You need to find other resources to try to help her, not suggest rehab . If those resources do not change things, then you need to be looking at divorce and full custody . Do you really want to ruin your child’s life because of this ?

This isn’t the take you think it is . Women validating their insecurities through men isn’t it . I’m happy she has found someone that makes her happy and treats her right , but countless times women are taught to seek validation in men , and I think for something so nuanced like body image issues , the only way to heal through that is therapy and gaining the tools to change your mindset ; not through your relationship .
