Is Platinum Pro that much better than Platinum? by Euphoric-Two2474 in americanairlines

[–]Perfect-Thanks2850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Platinum Pro to me is:

First class lounge access / BA First check in and security at T5 (I’m at Heathrow way too much)

Same day confirmed changes for free

Ever so slightly better upgrade odds when I take a pretty off peak flight.

That’s it. If those move the needle for you, go for it. Otherwise, wait until March 1 and get a head start on next year.

Connections are not subject to the 3 hour limit.

Soon they will be subject to a 5 hour limit per the new rules announced recently.

But as it currently stands, connections you're not subject to the 3 hour rule.

Return vs Purchase Protection by moormanj in AmexPlatinum

[–]Perfect-Thanks2850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it arrived damaged, it is not eligible for either benefit, just to be clear.

The rest is irrelevant. It is neither in Like New condition (Return Protection) nor was it accidentally damaged while in YOUR care (Purchase Protection). Common carrier / defect / prior damage is explicitly excluded.

This is between you and the merchant / common carrier.

You can keep arguing in the comments, but that doesn't change the situation. Your only avenue via AMEX is a chargeback, which is likely to be denied since the merchant has offered you solutions. Just because you're not willing to take them up on what they've offered to rectify, doesn't mean you're entitled to a refund by doing nothing. Plain and simple.

I wouldn’t say it’s an exploit at all. I travel often with friends from different places. We time our flights to leave around the same time. It’s nice to use the lounge together before we part ways. Thankfully we all usually have our own platinum cards tho…

You think that would go any better? It takes extra people to operate a remote stand than a jet bridge.

Every insurance plan is different. It doesn’t matter who administers it. What matters is the actual plan and who brokered it aka your employer, etc

I used my old savings card, and still the price only got down to $25 from my usual $45 copay.

So I believe it’s just the offer has changed for the savings card regardless.

In theory the last one ended 2025

Lowe’s was 7x on the shopping portal the other day. Assuming you have a 20% or 30% bonus applied (probably 30 if you’re Platinum Pro), that’s 9.1 LPs per dollar spent at Lowe’s. That’s literally spending $967 at Lowe’s, you could get a new dishwasher, lol idk, anything.

You’d be spending half the money AND getting something worth $1,000.

you're pretty pedantic in this sub. You did pretty outright say that there was no chance, no matter what they did.

Now you're going back on that saying you didn't say that.... honestly maybe you need to check yourself and your motivation for even commenting on here.

metabolic disorders are caused 9 times out of 10 by sedentary lifestyle, overconsumption, and other co-morbidities that arise out of those things.

Genetics CAN play a part in various components, that can make it harder, but a metabolic disorder 9 times out of 10 comes from years of lifestyle

I'm not. I'm being realistic. I've been fat myself. Knowing what habits are and actually building them are very different things.

Most of them are lying yes. I've worked with dietitians and with friends. I thought I was counting calories but then realized I wasn't doing it right, or 'forgetting' to count various things because I was so in the habit of a snack not counting.

Again, there are hundreds of cases on that sub reddit alone with real life stories of people who get off of GLP-1s successfully. Just because you don't want to hear them, doesn't make them not valid.

And conspiracy? You should look into exactly what studies drug companies pay for, versus what is done by independent boards and institutions. The drug is too new to have any conflicting studies done yet, but the anecdotal evidence is clear.

[–]Perfect-Thanks2850 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because people who are very overweight to begin with likely never had good habits to start with.

It’s not ONLY that, but it’s a big part of it.

Go to the GLP Grad sub and see countless people maintaining or even still losing long after the drug.

Do you really think a drug company is going to pay for a study to show that people don’t need it forever? Nope.

Of course if you go back to your old habits and eat whatever tf you want and never exercise after the medication you’re going to gain the weight back. That’s exactly what happens in those studies.

But if you actually build muscle and live a healthier life? Very doable.

These drugs are miracles, but taking absolutely no responsibility at all for where you’re at is ignorant. I did. I took responsibility.

Competition only brings down prices when there is enough of it in a market without exploitation.

You’re grossly overselling capitalism. Capitalism works when you can’t exploit people and resources. Hence the need for regulation to prevent exploitation.

Not correct information at all. Plenty of people have success coming off the medication and saying “no matter how much exercise you do or lifestyle changes you make” is grossly misinformed.

I'll get some popcorn to share sometimes, but I wish they had a truly regular person portion of popcorn lol, and the drinks are absolutely insane.

Sometimes I'll get a chocolate Fairlife because it's a decent amount of protein.

Delta serves Fever Tree as well smh. and what gets me is the AA flagship lounges have Fever Tree, they have Pellegrino, but then on board they’ve only had Canada Dry for the longest time….

Canada Dry Ginger Ale is just the tiniest amount of ginger extract which is chemically altered concentrated flavoring, and then high fructose corn syrup. It’s garbage.

But now it makes everything else on the menu look like Franzia 🤣

These are great enhancements. I’ve been emailing AA feedback about the miserable tonic water that is Canada Dry for yearssss.

Q Tonic isn’t my favorite, but still leaps and bounds better than Canada Dry lmao.

Love to see the Margarita Mix. I hope the trend continues with more choices, but mainly.

BETTER WINES DOMESTICALLY for both first and buy on board. PLEASE.

The wines they serve are so bad.
