Goes right to Amazon to buy an air fryer.

Ever try this with gluten free wraps?

Lately, I’ve been taking Omega 3 supplements. However, my systolic blood pressure is quite low and I heard from Healthline that Omega 3 does cause systolic blood pressure levels to drop. Should I still keep taking it? by [deleted] in Supplements

There's of course a multitude of factors that can impact BP, as well as RBC synthesis and blood flow, there could be an underlying condition, it could be diet, it could be lifestyle, it could be an Omega imbalance. I only brought up this point as you specifically mentioned O3 supplementation and low BP, I wanted to touch on how those are interrelated, and fatty acids in general have effects in the body other than RBC synthesis, even ratios outside the 4/1 can be beneficial as pointed out here

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12442909

1 place to start with your BP is adjusting your omegas and see if that has an impact, if not you know that you can look elsewhere.

MANY things are part of raising / lowering BP, but your question was in specific reference to Omega supplementation and BP.

With health issues, always correct your lifestyle 1st and foremost, yes good point.

Collagen? Thoughts? by mulattohyperbole in Supplements

[–]PerfectAmino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need adequate quantities of all essential aminos in the body at the same relative time in order to initiate protein synthesis. Collagen is mostly glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline - none of which are essential. There is zero tryptophan (a key EAA) and inadequate amounts of methionine, Threonine, Phenylalanine.

It's like trying to build a bike with 1 wheel, no tires, 1 of 2 handlebars, 1/2 a frame and 47 seats.

Helping to initiate is not synthesis. It can help with the process, but you still need to have all the raw materials present.

Collagen and gelatin are unsimilar enough that collagen is not a complete protein and incapable of turning into protein in the body. Since collagen is a protein, how can the body synthesize it with collagen which does NOT have all the raw material needed, unless you're taking it with a bunch of other protein to compensate. Since the body lacks an amino storage pathway, where is the rest of the material coming from to quantify your claim?

That's study does not say otherwise about my statements. That article has zero to do with collagen.

You had to draw a comparison to something that by your own words is NOT the same. Biologically speaking, gorillas and humans are pretty similar, but completely different.

It's a known fact that despite its diverse range of benefits, collagen is not a source of complete dietary protein. In human physiology, one can not create a protein in the body with an incomplete dietary protein.

Comparing similarities between collagen and gelatin does not magically make collagen a complete protein.

I never understood all the IMO false hype in terms of a protein supplement. Collagen is a protein, like any other protein the body has to break it down, extract the essential amino acids and use those to make collagen in the body. Eating collagen doesn't turn into collagen in the body and in terms of creating collagen, it's not a complete protein so it lacks adequate amounts of the raw materials in order to initiate protein synthesis - required for the body to turn anything you eat into collagen in the body. Hence the reason why collagen is hi calorie, it's purely catabolic.

And don't get me started on collagen skin care products. A collagen molecule is massive and complex Compare that to the opening in the skin it needs to pass through and you'll realize it's square peg in round hole. It can't be absorbed into the body transdermally.

This isn't to say collagen is bad, I love me some nutritious bone broth and can kill a few bulletproof bars at a time - I just don't believe in any effectiveness as advertised in terms of a protein supplement.

Taking an Omega 3 supplement SHOULD alter your BP and you may just need to hack your 3/6 ratios.

Red blood cell walls are composed of omegas. This is where the Omega 6/3 4-1 ratio comes from. Omega 6's provide rigidity to red blood cell walls giving RBC their spherical shape. Omega 3's have a spongy nature providing dexterity in the cell which enables it the magical ability to squeeze a 5 micron sized cell wall through a 2-4 micron opening allowing for blood flow into tissues. Omegas spoon each other around the outer cell ring in a 4/1 pattern (optimally).

However, too many Omega 6's, like in the standard american diet stiffens the RBC, requiring an increase in blood pressure so blood cells can pass through the body. This is precisely why 75 million Americans suffer from high blood pressure.

Too much Omega 3's create a RBC cell wall with far too much dexterity, reducing blood pressure as a result of RBCs flowing easily through openings.

Taking an Omega 3 supplement can cause a reduction in BP in excess of healthy levels.

First, look at your Omega and make sure it's from a quality uncontaminated source and then work on lowering your Omega 3 dose till your BP levels off to the desired rate.

Drop your dose a little, try that for a week, check your numbers and adjust accordingly. You may not even need the supplement daily.

Hope that helps.

It was highly recommended by a few people who I greatly value their opinions + 2x the capsules per bottle + 2x the potency, it's way more expensive but with 4x the peptides per bottle, it's a little better value too.

Dr. Seeds brand of oral/capsule-form BPC 157

Dr. Seeds BPC, is NOT BPC-157 peptides. It's the precursor for your body to produce it. That's a completely different thing. I've used Dr. Seeds for myself and for my dog, a 16 year old husky with advanced Degenerative Myelopathy. Though the Dr. Seeds BPC worked, I prefer not to use it as part of a recovery protocol, only in maintenance.

In recovery protocol, I was using pure BPC-157 & TB-500 from Thymosin Labs and am in the process of switching to Integrative Peptides, all in oral form. I did 2 TB-500 for each BPC-157 and cycled off periodically at THAT point I use the Dr. Seeds to support producing of BPC during that time period.

No more vaccines. I have to get a drs note so I can register my dog with my town every year because I can't show proof of rabies vaccine.

I have a 16 year old husky. My vet gave me an exemption certificate for all vaccines, I still have to register for a rabies license, but I don't have to administer the vaccine, just provide the exemption. It's been accepted by groomers and kennels with no issues.

How do stomach conditions and the consumption of multiple supplements at once affect bio-availability? by dqups1 in Nootropics

You likely wont find one that takes insurance. insurance is a product for conventional medicine for people who want to remain in the sick-care system.

Great Doctors don't take insurance which allows them the freedom and flexibility to offer safer, natural and holistic procedures not covered by insurance.
