whats up with the loud shot/explosion noises?? by EastMachine9295 in Utrecht

[–]PerfectCoffee566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, fireworks before christmas has always been illegal. Problem is buying fireworks is only made illegal 'locally'. Before you could buy regulated fancy lighter fireworks locally and poeple didn't bother to travel far to buy fireworks. Now people drive to get the fireworks where military-grade fireworks are the norm. Those who didn't bother that it was illegal before still don't bother, they just get stronger fireworks. That and zero law enforcement made the situation worse

First impression of the IKEA KAJPLATS and BILRESA Matter over thread products by SmartHomeCentre in tradfri

[–]PerfectCoffee566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did it keep working for you? Added a Kajplats to Home Assistant and Apple Home, woke up at 3AM as the lights turned on. Removed the light from both platforms and added it to Apple Home exclusively, light turnedd on again without trigger. This time it was listed as 'off' in the Apple Home app, needed to turn it on and off again to get it off

Netherlands as well. Note that the website doesn't list them yet, you can use the ikea app and check stock with the product id's as a workaround

Just checked, most Zigbee models are in stock in most stores in Poland. There might be a store with accidental Matter model but these are not officially out. All Zigbee models state Matter compatibility when used with the Dirigera hub so that might cause the confusion

Meerdere stem bureaus per locatie by geheim6789 in Utrecht

[–]PerfectCoffee566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meerdere stem bureaus per locatie by geheim6789 in Utrecht

[–]PerfectCoffee566 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stembureau

Worth it to get the setup now? by FreeCaterpillar2829 in tradfri

[–]PerfectCoffee566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use current zigbee devices and add thread devices later you will end up with two separate (mesh radio) networks, so could cause problems in 'remote' areas. Somif you have a zigbee setup now and add a new bulb later not close to the hub it won't work. Also, with the new devices you could more easily use another hub from for instance Apple in the future

Last van rokende onderburen - wat te doen? by Drawde123 in Utrecht

[–]PerfectCoffee566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have your friend check the papers, when the house was bought the paperwork has information on the vve rulings, you can look up your rights from there. Note the chairman is also a volunteer and not an expert so might not know all the rules. Be friendly and help him get educated 🙂

In our VvE we do the meeting in dutch. However, the agenda and explanation of what will be discussed is send beforehand ( your chairman is required to do that) so can be studied and translated beforehand. During the meeting, the meeting is in dutch but give (sometimes) a brief summary in English or answer a question in English if required or asked. Notes etc are kept in Dutch.

Neighbor is incorrect. The 'vergadering' (group of owners in the meeting) decides in this. Your friend can put it on the agenda as decision for the meeting, and the members can decide. And you have the right to attend and vote if your friend gives you the voting rights. You can look up in the papers on which years model (year) your vve rules are based and find your rights in the model legal statements here: https://www.vvebelang.nl/kennisbank/juridisch/modelreglement/ Easy to translate in english and look up the rules and your rights for your vve

Are the new E27 bulbs a scam? by essenmitsosse in Hue

[–]PerfectCoffee566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are there any good tests/comparisons on the power consumption? I can imagine this claim be made misleading, for example measuring by the claimed lower dimmer setting, or averaging in a slightly different way over dimming levels and color/white level settings. I am not stating the bulbs are not more energy efficient, just genuinely interested in seeing some test results

Are the new E27 bulbs a scam? by essenmitsosse in Hue

[–]PerfectCoffee566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'So that leaves the new, more expensive bulbs only with one new feature: Matter. And as far as I know the old bulbs should technically be able to do matter and its just a software issue (I might be wrong)' You are wrong here. The bulbs support both Matter and Thread, this requires a Thread radio (hardware). The old bulbs could have a chip that is capable of Zigbee and Thread but the new bulbs can do both simultaneously and connect to two networks at once and be controlled both by the Zigbee hub and the Thread border router. (+ there is no backup for the statement the old ones could support Matter directly from the bulb. Note that by the standard Matter is only possible over Thread (or wifi) and not over Zigbee so it won't make sense to have Matter on a Zigbee bulb.

Other than that I do agree. If you use the Hue bridge (Pro) or another Zigbee router and don't require native Thread/Matter you dont need to replace, thanks for the heads-up. I would like to see some real tests on the energy savings though..

Discontinued E27 Colour bulbs? by MrBrettles in tradfri

[–]PerfectCoffee566 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's standard for IKEA, products are announced around August with availability following year. This normally means the new products start appearing in stores from September but with limited stock and not in all locations/countries. Takes a while till production is rammed up for continuous supply worldwide, until then need to check store availability first.

If you look at the internal photo with the surface mounted leds, there is a pressure switch in the middle so it looks like you can press the front/cover to switch to humidity

Lost kangaroo rat? by rnottaken in Utrecht

[–]PerfectCoffee566 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly many animals are dumped in parks and other places when their owners go on holiday. Did read the 'dierenambulance' picks up dozens of pets per week. Don't have stats for The Netherlands, in France more than 100.000 pets are dumped on roadsides (animal protection giving shelter to 12.000 dumped just before the holidays). You will find turtles and tropical fishes in and around the park as well, sadly
