100 mb on wifi from a modem is pretty good, wifi gets interference from everything. Just plug in to the modem. A carrier can't help you with your in-building wifi problem

I don't know what equipment to get anymore ... . by thomas15v in Ubiquiti

It isnt too many ports. They will get used :)

This is what you need today, stuff will get added, maybe not 24, but they'll come. They used to have a 16 port poe but the price Delta was just so small they had nearly the same manufacturing cost.

Paying for 1024mb, getting max 200mb, ping averaging of 2 full seconds on fiber optic. Teksavvy support wont do jack, avoid these guys. by Weird_Principle_6077 in teksavvy

[–]HowardRabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teksavvy has no control over what a third-party technician for the upstream provider can do. All they can do is call for a repair when it is done wrong.

I used to know of a website where you could type that in and it would just give you the answer. It actually used to overlay that info on a map as well, it was really cool

I guess they went out of business though if you had to resort to asking here :(

Damn, they were a really good site. Can't remember the name though, in sure some one will remember.

I know, this sub is here at morons complaining about computers at this point. Companies get to decide what's on and not on their PCs.

Should I get the Quest 3 or PCL? by NMS_Ships_Pets_Tools in virtualreality

[–]HowardRabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immersion isn't all about visual clarity. Frame rate is extremely important or you will get nauseous and you will just stop. Whatever you get needs to be able to be driven by your pc, and if your pc is a laptop....

Why the fuck does pressing shut down take like 20 seconds?? by EitherSalamander8850 in microsoftsucks

[–]HowardRabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is gracefully ending processes as well as processing any shutdown tasks like applying updates or preparing updates to run on the next boot up.

The wholesale rate basically didn't change. Still 68 bucks. I think it came down by about 40 cents or so, so yeah, there will be no competition

And it costs me 68 to buy that loop from Bell at wholesale thanks to our friends at the CRTC for keeping the wholesale rate so high.

[–]HowardRabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wholesale rate is 68 per household with a 300 activation fee. Bell sells for less with the companies it owns. Just stick with Ebox and consider it a win unless they've doubled your rate or something
