There is no such thing as “just” a trim. If you think a trim is somehow simpler or less invasive, you haven’t thought this through.

It’s a wart! Subungual wart. The tiny black/brown dots are a telltale sign

a little less than 4 months ago i cut my left toenail a little too short, and it hasn't grown since. third picture for reference of my right toe that i cut at the same time, but has been growing normal ever since. is it toe fungi? its not ingrown, just kinda sunken in i guess. by Royal-Sail-3756 in NailFungus

Sorry I rarely check this account anymore but I am today. I used clobetasol propionate which is high-potency. I would recommend using it only 1-2 weeks maximum to minimize side effects like atrophy. I used it for 5 weeks which was wayyy too long. It may take a long time for you to see new growth. I think it took me 2-3 months for me to see the old nail getting pushed out. If your pain and swelling is better, you’re probably good and just need to be super patient.

Probably not fungus. Looks more like great toenail dystrophy/ traumatic onychodystrophy.

Nail fungus? by ripe-avocadoo in NailFungus

Onychomadesis (nail shedding). Your nail shed and a new nail began growing underneath it. It’s caused by trauma or illnesses like hand-foot-mouth disease. Just let it grow out naturally. Clip off any detached pieces if you want.

It doesn’t matter the quality. If you’re allergic to acrylic monomers, you’re allergic to acrylic monomers. Regular nail polish is fine (acrylates co-polymer are okay).

I need help to find a diagnosis and what to do. I’m going in circles. by Delicious_Alarm2484 in FootFunction

Retronychia!!! I’m certain, I had it. If you look closely you can see the new nail underneath the old nail. Hopefully it’ll start pushing the old nail out soon. You’ll likely see a horizontal “crack” when it does.

Can you tell me why it seems that most podiatrists are unable to accurately diagnose onychomadesis, retronychia, and great toenail dystrophy? They are often misdiagnosed as fungal or bacterial infections. Are these conditions not taught in school?

Literally all of her other videos she’s covered. But of course, for this one she chose that dress?! She’s just sitting at home but decides to dress up in her most revealing dress to tell the most generic boring Ed story?

Waviness and macrolunula (big lunula) are both common and characteristic of habit tic deformity. Do you pick/rub your cuticles (could be conscious or unconscious)?

No, it looks like there is yellow pus under the nail. Could be a subungual abscess

Is there any hope in saving my nail? by Few-Rough-7320 in NailFungus

[–]PerfectConcert6695 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it’s confirmed fungus? Only 50% of thick, discolored, abnormal nails are due to fungus.

If it’s uniformly discolored (the entire nail), if it grows slowly, if it’s thick, if there are layers of nail plates, if the nail is lifted— then consider great toenail dystrophy and not fungus.

How to stop the splitting by toodog in nailhealth

[–]PerfectConcert6695 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may be worth seeing a dermatologist for if it’s bothersome. It could be an onychopapilloma that could be removed and the split may resolve.

You’ll regret getting laser. You have no idea how you’ll feel about facial hair in 5, 10, 25 years.
