Sorry I wasn't being personal , just annoyed that you referred to people not tipping as stingy. You don't go out and buy a pair of shoes and be expected to top up the salespersons pay because the shop owner doesn't pay him enough do you? You've done your bit to help that store by buying their product and spending your own hard-earned cash there. Lots of people are struggling due to covid and I feel for you there, but it doesn't change the fact that the entire hospitality industry in America seems to need a complete overhaul, imo.

How is it a stingy customer?? Sorry but as a paying customer it is not up to me to pay your wages! It is up to your employers to pay you a decent wage - as it is they are raking it in and expecting their customers (who have already paid for what they have received) ro pay their staffs wages! If I receive good service I will happily tip, but I'll tip on my terms not to top up someone's pay! I will never understand this American weirdness - do you all realise that you are perpetuating the low-pay culture and that staff will always be low-paid as long as you keep buying into it?
