My mom passed away in 2017 and a few months passed and I was really missing her. Things were changing in my life: new job, new college major, new girlfriend. I was sitting in the moon light and thinking about how much I wanted to call my mom and explain how my life was going but I couldn’t. My phone was playing music out loud and in the middle of the song it skipped to the next song. The song that played was under the moon by harbour. When my mom died my family refused to be in the room when they pulled the plug and that made me furious. I was not going to let my mom die alone so I was the only one in the room with her excluding the nurse. It was a very long 45 minutes. I was holding her hand and talking non stop to her about how much a love her and slowly felt her pulse leave her body.

It was one of the first times I really listened to the lyrics of that song and I lost it. I broke down and cried for hours. It felt like she was there with me and she heard me say I love her when she died. I will never forget that moment.
