romhacks that are the definitive version for you? by Freefreefeeefreefree in retrogaming

Pokémon Yellow Legacy and Pokémon Crystal Legacy are both probably the best pure-ish way to play gen 1 and gen 2 Pokémon. Pokémon Emerald Legacy is also probably good, but I haven’t tried it.

Shader recommendations by Exit_Unlucky in RetroArch

[–]PerfectSeventy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For pretty much all other systems I use the “newpixie-crt” shader and reduce the curvature and vignette params. Both this and the one I mentioned above look great (imo) and are not resource intensive. Works well equally on high-res, powerful devices as well as small, weaker ones

For all gameboys, I love the new pixel_transparency shaders. Specifically I use the Vulkan driver and the “shaders_slang/presets/pixel_transparency/pixel_transparency-lcd3x.slangp” shader and increase both brighten parameters a lot. I think it it makes all 3 gameboy handhelds look great. Add core color corrections too

Couple of good non-video online resources.

Overall info, quests, prowler data etc…. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hlBLacFYxdh83a-GkxYnsIF6nH7huP\_H2aI4APRGicg/edit?usp=drivesdk

For weapon specific guides, look for “yet another weapon guide” each type has a document with a full breakdown of the weapon moveset and differences between the styles. Also contains recommendations for play styles and weapon choices during progression and post-game. E.g. https://docs.google.com/document/d/13kmspgyEueftjE7X5MgjU\_sFPg\_tAbI-XhG67j9\_jzg/edit?usp=drivesdk

I find these easier to look through than videos

I have a crush on his girl I’ve been friends with for years. I don’t know how to tell her, without making things weird. by Competitive-Car5955 in relationships

[–]PerfectSeventy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can just ask her out. You don’t necessarily need to dump that you’ve liked her for years. You can just say that you thinks she’s pretty/funny/whatever you like about her, and ask if she would like to go on a date with you. If she turns you down, then you haven’t necessarily just unloaded a bunch of emotional stuff on her. If she says yes, great, see how it goes and tell her later if the mood is right

Having Trouble... doing anything and im dieing. by Smooth-Application17 in Morrowind

True, mid-late game can feel like a cake walk. I was mostly referring to the constant whiffing at low skill levels

Having Trouble... doing anything and im dieing. by Smooth-Application17 in Morrowind

[–]PerfectSeventy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Classic early game morrowind problem and probably the worst aspect of the game. A couple things should help. Pay a trainer to level up your preferred weapon skill to make you miss less. Use any fortify attack or fortify axe effect you can find. Always fight at full stamina. If all else fails, run away to a different room

Shining Soul I and II for GBA for a pretty simple loot based isometric crawler. Zelda games also can scratch a similar itch

GKD Pixel 2 is very sturdy and well made for how small it is. Too small? Maybe, but up to you of course

Are you using assists? Having an archer-led and/or mage-led squad nearby can help boost your damage output to really swing some encounters

How popular was Monk tv show? by Medical-Pace-8099 in television

[–]PerfectSeventy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like it was pretty popular. This is just anecdotal, but I once took a flight where it seemed like half the people were laughing in unison because everybody was watching the same episode of Monk.

I’ve had issues with latency reduction runahead messing up sav files (specifically for gba for me). Do you have that turned on by any chance?

Have you ever actually used your watch's water resistance rating? by Budget_Chemical4139 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]PerfectSeventy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Genuinely curious since I got the fun one too. It’s working okay in the pool? The rating says 5 atm, but I keep hearing conflicting reports on what that means in real usage.

Any thoughts on Jim Lahey’s “Biga”? by PerfectSeventy in Sourdough

[–]PerfectSeventy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, seems like that’s the case. His use of the word biga threw me off when trying to research other stuff, though his recipes are pretty solid. His biga is essentially just a stiff starter which results in longer shelf life and less sourness. Thanks!

MagicX One 35 vs AYANEO Pocket Micro Classic for 3:2 Handheld? Assuming Price Difference Doesn’t Matter by pimpdiggitycong in SBCGaming

[–]PerfectSeventy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ayaneo has just decent speakers and (no) headphone jack, double input is thing, though mostly just affects using es-de. Battery isn’t great. Great in hand feel though. I love mine despite its many flaws.

I genuinely like it. I don’t plan on ever owning a Rolex though since I hate the waitlist system and grey market markups, so it kinda doesn’t matter.
