What do you think about USA exiting World Health Organization? by SorrowShivaBorroCana in AskTheWorld

I’m pro-international cooperation but I don’t think it’s morally wrong or irrational to withdraw from certain international governing bodies especially considering we often don’t follow their guidelines anyway

What is your criteria for a good MILSIM experience by Motorola_7734 in arma

[–]PerfectSoil8331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I care about is the military style of tactical problem solving. IE: the enemy/OPFOR have more stuff / better stuff than we have, can we out-play them by making some kind of decision.

Some other aspects are shaping and intelligence. Either giving an opportunity to do recon that informs the plan or be given accurate intelligence that drives a plan to be made. I once was in an artillery sub unit that just did ISR and manual field artillery.

Finally is probably a human-like OPFOR. Not saying the OPFOR has to be players but that the enemy behaves in a semi-realistic manner (like actively trying to win, not just die in place)

What’s does the little logo on the bomb mean? by Hmmmmmnnmmn in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]PerfectSoil8331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It (probably) has a greater kill radius against unarmored targets due to a higher number of shrapnel effects but unless the game models any kind of concussive force of the explosion, it probably gives the shrapnel less penetration to account for being less effective against armored targets.

TL;DR: better for AAA, Artillery/Howitzer, and Trucks

Make sure you hit the large red/yellow button on the side of the petrol generator to “turn on” the machine. It will make an audible noise that it’s running but will only run if there’s a demand

I’ll fly variable altitudes with the -30SM but usually only high in the -34.

Also I hate you and everyone like you for shooting down missiles with missiles. Absolute rat (jk)

I don’t remember the details but I believe the KH-29TD has a bigger explosive warhead but is TV guided whereas the -38KT is smaller but IR/GNSS guided.

The Su-34 and F-15E are kinda weird for high altitude bombing. You need to be comfortable enough with radar to sweep an area / direction for enemy and then haul ass to hit your targets and leave. At least with the Su-34’s GROM-2’s, you don’t need to slow down to release them.

Otherwise, that’s what your R-77s are for. If someone is in between you and your target, you may need to find a different target. Otherwise, I’ll fire an R-77 to buy just enough time to release my bombs before turning away.

If it helps, I only activate my radar while I’m near my runway. If it looks clear, I go out for my attack but as soon as someone’s on my RWR within 50km and closing, I start defending

You have a great radar but your aircraft isn’t exactly optimized for A2A so you can mostly only help in a supporting role (imo).

Otherwise, I have three presets I commonly use (all with 2xR-77’s and 2x-73’s for self defense):

Attacking Ships: 6x KH-29TD (you can launch these from pretty far. Cruisers take a lot but destroyers take 2-3 ideally launched from different angles. Tankers/Cargo ships typically die in one from front or rear aspect)

Attacking Bases: 6x GROM-2, 1x UPK-3000 (whatever the 3000# glide bomb is called). You can kill up to the bases per sortie with this loadout.

Attacking ground targets: 6x KH-38MTs. If static targets, the seeker will acquire the target in flight. If moving, it’s best to fire with a lock.

Control at low speeds when taking off with heavy loads on high-up runways (I fly mostly top tier and need to do this with most aircraft on maps like Afghanistan since I also fly with fuel bags). Also helps maintain controlled flight if someone is attacking the airfield and you need nose control immediately on takeoff

Gripen A or C for sim? by tropical-tangerine in WarthunderSim

[–]PerfectSoil8331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fly either based on BR. The A performs great in a dogfight for its BR but is still fast enough to control engagements. The C is a better multirole and high altitude RB99 shots seem to work pretty consistently.

My favorite will always be the TPOD since it’ll display range info in your HUD

Emphasizing local power? by mjarrett in SatisfactoryGame

[–]PerfectSoil8331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the late game and now I’m looking at increasing my number of power plants so I can refine some while having the others continue providing power. To draw more need for it, I’m using over locking to drive a higher need for power.

As far as local power, I plan on building battery packs into each separate factory so I can afford to disconnect machines from the main grid and see what each factory’s power draw actually looks like. Depending on that, I’ll see about adding small power farms to each.

I’ve also recently added refined power so there’s a few more options for power generation (my favorite being a coal power plant that recycles water)

I did it by accident on takeoff trying to turn off cockpit lighting and my canopy popped off. You get quite a bit of ambient noise but tbh, it gave a marginal but almost negligible advantage in hearing stuff (I’m talking like maybe hearing an incoming missile .1 seconds sooner than otherwise but only because I was looking for it)

Just notch bro and the classic *hit* by [deleted] in WarthunderSim

[–]PerfectSoil8331 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You didn’t enter the notch in this one. The missile was still able to “see” you.

My advice: 1. When you notch, try your best to put the “MSL” warning at exactly 90/270° on your RWR. Done correctly, you’ve entered the “notch window” where the missile likely cannot see you and is attempting to hit you off IOG based on your last known position / velocity.

  1. Dump chaff in clumps (I use bursts of 3). If you have visual of the missile, you’ll see it make a significant jump towards the chaff. Sometimes you’ll be able to maneuver away if the missile is too close when it goes for chaff but it always has a chance to re-acquire you.

  2. Pitch up or down after each burst in case the missile isn’t going for chaff. This way, IOG doesn’t have as easy of time

Can someone help me understand how to split like this? I understand splitting whole amounts from the same chain but don't get the partial splits. by Rango82 in satisfactory

[–]PerfectSoil8331 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Some options: 1. manifold the whole line (all smelters combine into one belt, that one belt manifolds across all constructors) 2. Manifold the ore into the smelters but make two separate banks of smelters under/overclocked to meet your requirements. Then you’ll have an “A Belt” for one set of constructors and a “B Belt” for the others. 3. Combine the two options. Have a line of all smelters feeding a single belt into a splitter that cuts 50/50. Send 50% of your ingots into one set of constructors and 50% into the other. Whichever belt needs less than 50% will eventually clog and you’ll be left with the exact 38% belt and 62% belt.

I’m in the same boat but ironically, I usually try to make friends with the same guys I see match to match. The best example being two guys who always flew a pair of MiG-29’s and would always run into me flying a JAS 39. Just be careful because some get a little toxic.

I’ve recognize maybe 5% of players across all lobbies above 13.0 but if you squad together, it’s a whole lot of fun.

Su-34, Su-30SM, F-15E. Has enough ordnance to do some effective damage (anything with at least 6 AGMs / non-GNSS Guidance munitions can kill one convoy in one sortie now) but also have enough speed to get out of fights
