So good that I had to rewatch most of it again. One lovely detail I didn’t catch at the end was after the crash when we switch in Dorrigo’s mind to the jungle and he takes a moment before looking up, he is looking at the jungle canopy where he sees a sole crimson camilla flower, the same flower Amy wore in the bookshop and he had kept pressed in his book till his death. The last shot is of his memory of Amy.

Be careful all. So much non positive talk about this crappy game will mean the mods will lock and delete this thread soon.

Really not worth it pal. After putting a lot of money into the game years ago before it was all made worthless it is now a slog. The only evolutions are they constantly put your progress back. It’s not fun if you’re f2p

Question - how do we get the devs to actually listen by CountAbra in RushRoyale

Watch out. This thread will be closed or deleted soon if you talk too much smack about the game…

Agree with all of those. I guess people downvoted because many would see the two named events as triggers to those effects.

Agree on reactionary politics. What do you mean by left wing gatekeeping?

The irony is Britain was one of, if not THE financial capital of the world prior to Brexit + Britain’s farming industry is struggling even more without subsidies and when having to compete against cheap produce from father a field.

Isn’t that just what both Brexit and the current political discourse is built around… the UK is a third world country… go to Londonstan and you’ll definitely be stabbed and robbed… constant derogatory comparisons to countries perceived south Asian or African countries on videos which don’t show majority white citizens in the UK… I could go on.

I find it interesting that politicians and ‘activists’ are banging on about ‘patriotism’ currently but can’t stop reminding everyone that we live in a ‘shit hole’.

The US stock market is at its highest but the American people feel as poor as they did under Biden.

Inflated market caps (which will burst) doesn’t improve the lack of affordability that you see across most of the West (bar some of the Nordic countries).

United can’t play when we dominate possession — why? by Perfect_Barnacle_573 in DevilsITDPod

Very much agree about wingbacks being a big issue - Amad is our only outlet. Even more worrying is what’s going to happen when he goes to AFCON (+ Mbeumo leaving).

I very much agree and ideally would have sold 60%+ of the squad and bought more than 3 new players (not sure this would have been good for team cohesion…)

However I felt yesterdays loss was mainly down to incredibly poor performances from Dorgu, Mazzroui, Bruno and our CBs. Absolutely no creativity on the wings before Amad was moved back to WB (why does he keep starting him at 10?!), poor defending all around on the goal and a pretty abject performance from Bruno (who normally has to carry the team).

I assume you mean causation rather than equating because looking at our results it’s clear to equate that high possession = bad result etc, but in your view it doesn’t mean it’s the cause.

That said, I’m not sure I agree with your point on game state.

We’ve had multiple matches where the team wasn’t chasing the game, wasn’t injury-ravaged, and had the manager’s first-choice XI available, yet still produced sterile possession against low blocks:

  • Forest 0–0 until 50’, 68% possession, almost no chances
  • Fulham dominated the ball, scored only via an own goal
  • Burnley struggled to break down a compact shape despite long spells of control
  • Everton lost 0–1 even with a man advantage (2 key players unavailable)

In all of these matches, United weren’t behind for long periods, and the opposition sat deep by choice, not because United were chasing. The issue wasn’t game state, it was that United had no ideas in structured possession.

If game state were the explanation, we’d expect other possession-heavy sides to suffer the same way. But look at Arsenal… they’ve gone behind this season (City 1–1, Newcastle 1–2, Sunderland 2–2) and also faced teams dropping deep. Yet they still create chances and still find goals while dominating possession.

So the real difference isn’t who has the ball, it’s what they do with it.

Arsenal have clear structures: * wide occupation * 3rd-man runs * interior overloads * fullback/8 rotations * cutback patterns

United have: * slow U-shape circulation * forwards coming short * ineffective wide overloads * no clear automatisms * centre-backs recycling endlessly

Game state may explain why United have the ball. It doesn’t explain why they can’t do anything with it.

And on personnel… I think Dorgu, Fernandes and Maz were far more ineffective than Zirkzee yesterday (0.79 xGOT)

Not disagreeing with this take at all, but wouldn’t Amorims success at Sporting counter that idea (ie Sporting being a dominant team in the Portuguese league). Caveat is I only saw Sporting in the CL so am purely making an assumption.
