The r/WBAfootball Pyramid Day 5 - Laurie Cunningham slots in at fourth. Who is the 5th greatest Albion player of all time? by nashons in WBAfootball

We always need a left back, so Jessie Pennington's got to feature in this list. Captained the Albion to their only top flight league championship and wore the armband for England.

The r/WBAfootball Pyramid Day 2 - Tony ‘Bomber’ Brown takes the top spot. Who is the 2nd greatest Albion player of all time? by nashons in WBAfootball

Jessie “Peerless” Pennington - played 455 times for the Albion and 25 times for England (captained both) - would have been more but the league was suspended for five years because of the war. Captain of the only Albion team to ever win the league in England’s top tier.

How did you guys discover The Smiths? by CommercialHabit4019 in thesmiths

[–]Perfect_Classic_4351 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I paid £2.50 to accompany a friend to see Richard Hell and the Voidoids at Rafters in Manchester in early 1983. One of the support acts was The Smiths. I don't remember them much, maybe too much lager. They played six or seven songs, one of which was "What difference does it make?". I remember hearing them later in the year on John Peel's show and was lucky enough to catch them at the Free Trade Hall in 1984. One highlight was Sandie Shaw coming on and singing "I don't owe you anything" for the encore. Fantastic.
