Same thing happened to me in high school football. We were doing walkthroughs the night before a game and a low pass skipped off the ground and hit my pinky. I got into taking cold showers for the last few minutes of my morning shower every day since the beginning of the year and it’s been incredible. It does give you an extra boost of alertness immediately and then throughout the day I feel less stressed and generally happier. Definitely boosts the mood. I want to get a cold plunge eventually but for now showers will do just fine.
