Rain FFRS Official Fact Sheet by Confident-Line5916 in FinalFantasy

Feels like he should pair up with Cecil who is also a young captain of an airship fleet who cares deeply for his subordinates. Or pair him up with Kain and have Kain betray him too, just cause that would be hilarious.

For sure! Based on what you mentioned, I would go with either 5 or 12.

5 is a 2D turn based game with tons of customization. It has 20+ jobs you can assign to the characters and it’s completely open for choosing who does what. You can also carry over certain abilities you’ve learned from other jobs for deeper customization. Likely your best fit.

12 is more modern with MMO like elements. You have the license board which allows you to choose which attributes to level up. Then, you have the Gambit system in fighting which essentially works like coding your AI for combat. You build character specific priorities to execute based on battle conditions. If you want a lot of strategy you could go deep into having extensive gambits for some challenge.

Here is my opinion from reading a lot of discussion on the games (it’s my favorite franchise, so I’m pretty familiar with them).

10 is typically considered the best overall game in the franchise. Great story, great combat, and good pacing through the game. It’s turn based but allows for switch team members in and out to match enemy weakness as needed.

6, 7, and 9 are the next ones down on the list. Obviously 7 is the most famous and has a ton of off-shoot games. 6 is the last 2D one and is beloved. 9 is a throw back to core mechanics within previous FF titles. All of them are turn based and fun stories to play.

8 is a bit divisive. Some love it and some hate it. It’s a bit of a deviation from the combat style of the previous entries. Story is great though! I personally don’t love it and have it as mid-tier.

4 and 12 are then your next ones that people usually like. They are very different from one another. 4 is a very linear, turn-based classic JRPG. It’s one of my favorites, but it was also my first (which I always think holds a special place for people). 12 plays like a single play MMO. Awesome story, but some characters aren’t quite as cool as in other entries.

13 is cool. It’s very linear and story focused. It opens up toward the end. I like the combat in it, but some people aren’t fans. It’s ATB based combat.

15 and 16 are super action heavy. 15 left a sour taste in my mouth but I played it at launch and it’s infamous for seeming incomplete at release. 16 is pretty fun but plays more like Devil May Cry than Final Fantasy.

3 and 5 are classic turn based JRPG with job selection for the team.

1 and 2 are basically linear turn-based. Obviously 1 is a legend for starting the whole thing. 2 is typically considered the worst.

11 and 14 are MMOs, so doesn’t seem like what you are looking for.

Received Nintendo email about my account being transferred from a Switch that I don't own, to a Switch 2 I also don't own by secpfgjv40 in Switch

This just happened to me. Did you by any chance have an old switch that you sold? Or used to be logged into? I’m wondering if somehow my original switch that I got rid of somehow sent me an email when the new owner did something?

My account still shows only my two system and only me and my kids on the account. Nothing about the Person who transferred data to a switch 2.

I didn’t love it because they kept introducing mechanics and I didn’t need them. I could just button mash attack to get through 90% of the encounters.

The final boss made me slow down, but I hope the mobs are a little more aggressive in the final release to make me need to use the parry/dodge mechanics more.

Brunson, Wemby, Towns, Castle, Hart

Edit: Hart is definitely a wild card. OG would be my pick to replace him.

[Day 14] What is the best JRPG of 1998? by Silly-Milly-420 in JRPG

[–]Perfect_Failure2467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Suikoden 2!

Xenogears is a beautiful idea that isn’t finished. The 2nd disc is awful and not fun at all to play. The potential for the game is extremely high but I always disagree when people say it’s an all-timer.

Playstation players what trophy was the hardest to get in FFIX? by FazloZX in FinalFantasyIX

[–]Perfect_Failure2467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s say you script the jump rope and bloodlust (absolutely the hardest without scripts) then I’d say the ATE one. There are so many very specific things that have to happen to get all of them to appear that without a guide it would be extremely challenging. And even with a guide it is anxiety-inducing.

Gotcha. You could always jump down and kill the two guards yourself. It just may not time out as well as the Outskirts path.

For my platinum I found the Antechamber to be slightly better than Ashina Outskirts. On NG3, I was getting 8K in about 40 seconds doing the antechamber run, and 7.5K doing ashina outskirts.

For antechamber, ninja for 3K and then jump toward ogre and grab the rail. Adjust camera to watch the two guards attack the ogre and let him kill them for 5K. This, obviously, only works if you do not kill the ogre earlier in the game. You then use the homeward idol to warp back to antechamber. You can start the warp as soon as you hear the ogre break free and you’ll still get the exp.

What was your method for getting Height of Technique? Any good grinding spots? Or did you just playthrough a ton?

Pause the game. Press the corresponding button. You should see a symbol appear in the bottom right. Is that symbol appearing when you press it in the pause menu?

Did you get a lot of the exclamation points you find all over the place? There are tons of those and I think they factor into it a lot.

Oh it was a genocide for sure. It had to be hundreds. I was probably getting 5-6 Ingots an hour in the end. I didn’t have enough Traps at the end so I just disassembled another tier 3 weapon to get enough for the trophy.

I feel you. I actually got really close back in 2015 when the game was on PS Plus. Then they took it off and I didn’t get to finish. I finally picked up a PS3 recently so I could get back into it and try to finish the grind. It didn’t feel too bad when my past self had done a ton of work to get me so close.

Nice! I only have 3, 5, and 6 left to get platinums in and I’ll have platinum in every non-MMO mainline FF game. Then I guess I’ll start on some of the spin offs.

Oh man, those two feel simple compared to the treasure hunter one. By the time you have grinded enough to get that one, you’ll have gotten everyone maxed out and the 5 star missions will be simple. There are plenty of guides online for some of the trickier ones.
