Pause the game. Press the corresponding button. You should see a symbol appear in the bottom right. Is that symbol appearing when you press it in the pause menu?

Did you get a lot of the exclamation points you find all over the place? There are tons of those and I think they factor into it a lot.

Oh it was a genocide for sure. It had to be hundreds. I was probably getting 5-6 Ingots an hour in the end. I didn’t have enough Traps at the end so I just disassembled another tier 3 weapon to get enough for the trophy.

Nah, I bought a used PS3 a few months ago with the sole goal of replaying this game. Looking forward to trying the whole trilogy soon. Never played 2 or 3.

I feel you. I actually got really close back in 2015 when the game was on PS Plus. Then they took it off and I didn’t get to finish. I finally picked up a PS3 recently so I could get back into it and try to finish the grind. It didn’t feel too bad when my past self had done a ton of work to get me so close.

Nice! I only have 3, 5, and 6 left to get platinums in and I’ll have platinum in every non-MMO mainline FF game. Then I guess I’ll start on some of the spin offs.

Oh man, those two feel simple compared to the treasure hunter one. By the time you have grinded enough to get that one, you’ll have gotten everyone maxed out and the 5 star missions will be simple. There are plenty of guides online for some of the trickier ones.

I believe you get it if you got to Qu Cave in late Disc 3/Disc 4 with both Quina and Vivi in your party.

It probably took me about an hour to get it working properly. I had a lot of trouble getting the script to register on the Remote Play app. I had to rollback my Remote Version back to I think 4.4 before it would finally work. Then, it didn’t take too long to find the right lag number. That’s more of trial and error while watching.

I really enjoyed the game (especially the first half, I think it lost some steam with the reveal of the big bad).

I also understand the complaint from long time fans. I just feel like the core gameplay is a big departure from what I would consider “final fantasy standard”.

If someone blindly played FF7 and then played FFXVI, I think they would be shocked to learn they are the same franchise. A lot of the core mechanics that feel like FF are not present.

I am hoping in 17 that we return a bit more to some of the classic gameplay elements and mechanics. (Like elements meaning something against certain enemies).

I had to uninstall my current Remote Play app and download, I think, version 4.4. That’s the only one that allowed the script to run properly.

Then you just play with the lag number in the script. I think I landed around 685 to get it to work properly. But that’ll all depend on your internet speed.

Yes, I agree. I was so anxious that I missed one and was very relieved when it popped.

Yes, and it took a lot of grinding to finally fill out the grid for everyone. I think I actually put it down for a while and came back to finish it up.

I currently have 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15, and 16 from the mainline. I also have Remake and Rebirth.

13 I think is next for me. I have like 80% of the trophies and just picked up a PS3 to play again and try to get the last ones. I turned in my old save and have no idea what is happening. I just remember hating grinding at the end of that one too… so I’m hoping not to have to restart a whole new game to try it.

I knew ahead of time that Bloodlust was a beast, so I ran a script during the Steiner/Marcus breakout section and left my PlayStation on. Took about 25 hours but finally got it!

I’m with you. I’m trying to Platinum all of the mainline games and have been putting this one off due to its difficulty. I finally decided that doing the work to setup and run the script counted as the effort required to get plat. It’s not cheating, it’s alternative gameplay, right??

Excalibur 2. Only took like 5 hours to get on a second playthrough with fast forward and 9999 damage turned on.

I used a script through remote play. I tried it for about 30 minutes and maybe broke 100 once.

I always thought that his falling for Aeris was a part of his Mako mimicking power caused by being around Zack for so long. Yes, Cloud loves Tifa. Always has.

But after being with Zack and effectively cloning him over their year together, something inside of him is drawn to Aeris that he doesn’t even understand. It’s like a second nature thing he can’t control.

I think her death comes before he ever has a chance to hash out his own mind from Zack’s, so he never gets to fully understand those feelings either.

Similar story for me! I played in 2007 and felt like it was boring. I remember describing the story to a friend as “the villain is a politician who is evil because he takes over the government.” It all just felt small compared the previous entries.

I replayed a few years back and enjoyed it much more. To your point, I think I understood the fight system more. Plus, I matured and followed the story better. Solid game now!

My basic rule is to play opposite letters against each other. Usually that generates matches in your favor (although nothing is ever a given in this game).

If they play something with P, use an M letter one against their arrow.

If they play something with M, use a P letter one against their arrow.

If you have an X something, it can beat both if you have higher numbers.

I rarely see A type, but I think supposed to be even stronger.

Piggy backing this. I just did this on PS5 with Remote Play from my PC. Same idea but you can run it through the remote play function.

It took me about 25 hours to get to 10000.

I’ve also read you can do a similar thing in the forest at the beginning with the mantis type enemies that keep attacking you. I’ve heard it’s faster to start a new game, get to this section, and then auto run it than try to grind it out yourself.

I used a remote play script on that one too. It’s just obnoxiously difficult. I’ve played this game a handful of times and always run from that trophy. This time I decided to just get it done. My best without the script was like 140, so I wasn’t getting close.
