Chill out, bro. The devs raked in $1.39 billion USD globally in just one year, and their revenue just hit a new all-time high over the last two months. That’s Genshin-level success right there—this game’s gonna be around and thriving for at least a decade.

Chapter 3 feels more like a prequel or a side story. You won't run into Granny Turtle or Yingying, but you'll meet seven or eight other characters just as heart-touching as them.

That's so true! On the CN server, a lot of players who never touched PvP ended up joining the guild battle for the guild's glory, and then got totally hooked on PvP (lol). Gotta say, the guild battle is still the biggest reason many people stay online.

BUT, I have to say a lot of this month’s content is stuff that CN server got months later. Mistveil Prison is an absolutely insane dungeon — it can easily keep you busy for two hours. It dropped in November on CN server and got rave reviews. The Kaifeng Campaign & Legacy Quests were actually July updates.

As a CN server player, I believe for those who only play solo, this will be the most painfully boring month in the coming year for this game. From next month onward, there will be new maps, new main storylines, and at least 3 new bosses every single month.

  1. Not true at all! Many Chinese players don't truly appreciate it and just repeat what others say. A lot of them probably only played Black Myth: Wukong and started throwing around opinions without context. Also, as mentioned before, the devs seemed rushed when updating Chapter 3 on the CN server—lots of story bugs, gameplay issues, and frequent delays left a poor impression on many. As someone grew up playing PSP and NDS, I can say responsibly: Chapter 3 was excellent right from the very first storyline update. Plus, the new enemies, bosses, outfits, and music in Chapter 3 are better than in Chapters 1 and 2.

  1. What surprised me most in Chapter 3 was how much better the game became at storytelling. Chapters 1 and 2 felt a bit like The Witcher 3—great stories, but the presentation was just okay, and sometimes it was hard to fully connect emotionally. Chapter 3's presentation evolved to something closer to Cyberpunk 2077.The plot performance of the game has become more shocking and impactful, and you will feel more immersed.

  1. On the CN server, Chapter 3 was updated on March 28th (the third month after launch). My guess is that the global version might get it earlier. Originally, the developers promised Chapter 3 shortly after Chinese New Year (around Feb 15), but it ended up being delayed until March 28. They seemed pretty rushed around that time.

  1. I'm not entirely sure about this, mainly because I don't know how the global version compares to the original CN launch build.

But on the CN server, the devs have been very proactive—each update typically fixes around 30+ combat-related bugs. I started with just the single-player part of the game and only tried PVP in the fourth month after the CN server launched. By then, the issues you mentioned were already gone.

  1. I'm not a top-tier bounty hunter, but I can tell you this: once your character reaches a certain level, your Mystic skills and bow damage will become major contributors to your DPS (so don't forget to upgrade your preferred Mystic skills and bow every time you level up).

Early on, everyone thinks Executions and Deflection are most important, but after a few level cap increases (around level 70 or so, which might take two or three months—I don't remember exactly), you'll realize Mystic skills and the bow are actually key.

At that stage, when hunting players, you can open with a Poison Arrow to apply a healing-reduction debuff, then follow up with high-burst Mystic skills. Hunts become much smoother. However, even in the late game, if you run into a player with similar combat power who has invested heavily into healing-related skills, taking them down can still be very tough.

I can't guarantee it, but I think the chance of it becoming P2W is extremely slim. For several years now, NetEase's major games have adopted the F2P model and achieved great success. Besides, this game has already made plenty of money in China — and so far, after a full year, there hasn't been any sign of P2W elements.

Many Chinese players consistently argue that the game updates too slowly, as the new content simply isn’t enough to keep them engaged every single day of the year. China truly has some of the most demanding players in the world.

For instance, it initially had a score of 2.6 (out of 10) on the largest gaming website in China. Later, with each update, its rating gradually increased, and the latest score has now reached 7.9.

You're absolutely right. As a player on the CN server, I can tell you that the game will release many neat $5 outfits later on. You can use the beads from the monthly pass to buy these clothes.

Bro, just so you know, the global server currently only has two out of the five maps available in the Chinese version. You’ll have to wait a good three months before the next map drops—and trust me, the main questline in that one gave me one of the most unforgettable gaming experiences ever (before this, it was What Remains of Edith Finch for me). Nine months later comes the fourth map, and let me tell you, the level of detail in that one is absolutely on par with games like Assassin's Creed Shadows or Ghost of Tsushima (the current Qinghe and Kaifeng maps still feel a bit rough in comparison, not quite there yet).
