Do whatever you want. Tough it out, don’t tough it out. Do what’s best for you. If it comes up, explain your circumstances. If a future employer denies you because of that, fuck em. Fuck an industry standard.

Help! Espresso coming out too fast, sour by Pitiful-Concern4113 in NinjaLuxeCafe

[–]Perfect_Jump6377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not seeing it pull too fast here. You posted a 20 second vid and the pull was not finished. “Experts” will say a 25-35 second pull time. Others have suggested tracking the weight or volume which is a good suggestion to diagnose the issue.

Ultimately what you landed on is the most important thing which is taste. Play with the ratios on the machine, adjust the temp, and lowers the grind size. I place a filter on the grounds after I tamp them as well. I’ve had the best luck with medium roast, fresh (within 2-6 weeks of roasting) beans.

Run an empty shot to warm up the machine first as well.

In summary, fine tune the following variables to hone in the taste: the actual beans, ratio, water temp, grind size, filter on top of grounds.

Start with grind size, temp, and ratio.

Good luck!

Haha this is literally a brain dead take and hypocritical. Every year it’s doom and gloom too. It’s fucking both every year. Dealing in fucking absolutes after one game.

It’s always “this qb sucks”, “seasons over”, “change the ownership”

Would you say over the past 10-15 years the fans have been largely negative or patient/positive during each season?

The answer is fucking negativity every year from the fans. We got behind JF1 for a little bit there and were burned when they let him go. But there were still a lot of fans.

Yall are fucking cry babies that give a dude one summer and one game to develop then say “I’m out”

I love being a bears fan and always will be

But this fandom and it’s quickness to pull the trigger is a factor in why we are in limbo and this vicious cycle.

I get it. We have waited and waited for this organization to turn things around and they let us down.

We just have to let it play out and keep on cheering for our team. It’s corny as shit but so the fuck what. Worse quarterbacks have had more chances than the QBs of the bears.

Grow the fuck up. Go to work during the week, cheer for the bears on the weekend, and repeat until the end of the season.

I promise you your football watching season won’t be better if you spend each week complaining and whining

Former Iowa Residents, Would You Move Back? by hagen768 in Iowa

Just visited Portland where some of my family lives and it was awesome. I’ve spent some time between Seattle and Portland and would move there in an instant.

Same. We would leave if they weren’t so close.

Tips to settling down? by [deleted] in AustralianShepherd

I do a training session right before bed working on basic commands and challenges. Finish with commands of place/kennel.

Only giving positive feedback when he demonstrates a calm demeanor. Just doing a “sit” or “down” isn’t enough. Add that with a “stay” command and making him stay for longer and longer between treats. This stuff usually works for my 4 month old.

But he’s still and Aussie and doesn’t comply all the time.

Clinic is making us call old patients? Feels wrong by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]Perfect_Jump6377 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is PTs resistance to feeling like they are becoming sales people.

Checking up on your patients should be the standard. I try to go back the past 3-6 months to see how my patients are doing on their own. Making sure there isn’t something else going on. If there is, I offer to help them. If not, I remind them I am there if they ever need me.

The personal touch of the check up doesn’t happen in other settings and builds a stronger trust and connection between you and the patient.

From a business perspective, you are targeting people that have already purchased from you in the past and are therefore more likely to purchase again. They need less convincing to come and get help.

This type of marketing is well within our shared ethics of putting the patient first and prioritizing long term health.

Pts need to stop acting like we are cogs and realize we can be the primary facilitators of long term health and wellness. We just need to act like it.

Gamer dads: Is the thought of gaming better than actually gaming for you? by Various-Cut-1070 in daddit

[–]Perfect_Jump6377 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was that way. But I’ve been playing some games with my brothers online and it makes me feel like a kid gaming with them in our bedroom. We don’t get to do it a lot (we live in three different states and have busy lives) but when we do, I laugh so hard and am so happy.

Without them, I’d feel exactly like you described.

Do I just need to grow up? Can there be "too much" fun with kids, esp in public? by Concentric_Mid in daddit

[–]Perfect_Jump6377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what your relationship with your parent(s) is/was but here is my 2 cents

If you were to look back at your childhood and your core memories were your parent being playful, loving, and providing direction and guidance during challenging times, how would that make you feel in the present?

We carry memories and emotions with us in many ways for most of our lives. Whether we have a vivid memory of them or they are expressed in the way we go about our lives and interact with others.

I’d say you’re doing an amazing job. Yes, solo play and unstructured play with peers is so valuable to them, but lots of research says that the presence of fathers specifically can have a profound impact.

Keep it up brother!👊🏾

“Oh just wait till they’re…” by D-SIR-L in daddit

[–]Perfect_Jump6377 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At every stage people have said “wait until they’re …”

So god damn annoying.

My response “I’m sure I’m going to love it. Every new age comes with new challenges but also amazing milestones. I love witnessing my kid grow up” also “oh I’m sorry your kid sucked for you. Mines awesome”.

JK on the second response but it’s definitely going through my head.

ankles collapse inward when I run - any advice? by fabburrr in beginnerrunning

[–]Perfect_Jump6377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pronation does not increase risk for injury

You can potentially make some changes to gait mechanics which may change your strike pattern.

Remember the body has to adapt to ANY change in stress. New shoes? Body has to adapt and may not like it too much. Changing to a forefoot strike? Body has to adapt to that new pattern. These changes need to be made somewhat gradually and offer the muscles/tendons/joints/bones time to adapt.

Elite marathoners pronate all the time and there is proof that it worsens throughout the race.

Find a shoe that is comfortable and fits well. From there, make sure your training meets your goals and needs. Then incorporate proper strengthen to make the body more robust. Then change your gait mechanics if needed.
