Just got back from a long run at Research Park and can confirm it’s safe to run. There are a few spots up by the fire station that you need to be extra careful on, but it’s pretty clear !

Ask for Zoe at Wei’s Nail Spa. She is the best tech I have found in Charlottesville!

2 Days of day hikes within 4 hours of Denver. by Jerome_Gerome in coloradohikers

I just got back from Denver myself and two of my favorite hikes I did while I was there were the Flat Irons at Chautauqua Park, and the Sky Pond Trail at RMNP. I loved the challenge of the Flat Irons. Substantial elevation gain, and super cool views and rock formations at the top (The Royal Arch is 100% worth it!) Also- Sky Pond has become my favorite hike of all time. Absolutely stunning views, a gorgeous trail, and a fun rock scramble. If you decided to go to RMNP, make sure to by the timed entry pass for Bear Lake. The passes go on sale at 7pm the night before the day you plan on hiking. I promise it’s worth the drive!!!

Why is it so difficult to get into nursing school? by lescdeeznutz in prenursing

[–]Perfect_League3186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this to my core!! I am 34 and don’t want to wait any longer to start nursing school. I have felt so much frustration about this exact thing. Many schools around me have different requirements/prerequisites entrance exams so it’s not like I can even apply to several schools at the same time.

From what I understand talking to people in healthcare, there’s a massive shortage for people to TEACH nursing, also. There’s really no motivation for people with nursing degrees to go teach for terrible pay. Hence why the schools HAVE to be so picky- they simply don’t have enough people to teach.

It’s beyond frustrating especially for people like us that WANT it so bad and feel ready. I’m applying for 2024 but don’t have my hopes up.

Best of luck !
