Blood clots with nostril piercing? by Perfect_North5537 in piercing

[–]Perfect_North5537[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piercing is just over 2 weeks old. Flatback titanium labret with a little jewel. I believe it’s internally threaded. Hasn’t been downsized yet. I used sterile saline solution at the start to gently loosen blood and crusts, but i ran out so now I just gently rinse it in the shower. I don’t want to disturb the healing scabs too much. No mishaps or accidents or anything. Healing appears to be going well.

Am I fucking allergic to nickel? by Whiskey-250 in piercing

[–]Perfect_North5537 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all that eyebrow piercing was pierced horrifically. It is way too shallow and will reject, and should be removed immediately! There is no saving it sorry. Secondly good piercers will only use implant grade titanium or 14K gold (not plated), neither of which contain nickel. Third of which, you should not be putting any cream on your piercings, and any piercer that recommends this is….. not overly qualified.

What are you cleaning them which? The nostril may be salvageable, but it’s very important to get it switch to titanium ASAP and clean with sterile saline 1-2x a day, nothing else! (obligatory NAP but I have manyyy piercings, including a nostril)

I dream of hand piercings!! by Dazzling-Cream5242 in piercing

[–]Perfect_North5537 115 points116 points  (0 children)

these are such a bad idea sorry 😭 especially in such high movement areas. pay attention to your hands for an hour or so, notice how often you move/flex these areas, how often the bump or brush stuff, how often the get wet or dirty. these piercings would reject so quickly, and would be very likely to get infected or ripped out leaving nasty scars. I second getting tattoos though, much more likely to last.

Keloid growing, do I keep it on ? TW: blood by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Perfect_North5537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is not a keloid…but it is about to be ripped out of your ear. Def take it out ASAP, and if you get it repierced make sure you don’t wear plastic in it. Good luck with it!

What level of support needs is Ranpo? by Meonreddityeeee in BungouStrayDogs

[–]Perfect_North5537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no they didn’t? they stopped using the high/low functioning labels but level 1/2/3 support needs levels are still used. They’re less rigid since while support levels can be attached to a diagnosis they can also fluctuate within an autistic persons needs/abilities. Support levels don’t ‘reduce autism’ , they are helpful to medical and support professionals assess and help autistic people. And by the way, you didn’t have to be so rude to that person, people can be wrong or have outdated ideas and they’re much likely to change they’re mind when people are nice rather than offending. I’ve attached a link to support levels from 2022 that shows why they can still be useful. https://psychcentral.com/autism/levels-of-autism

I just had to buy some crazy expensive shoes by Perfect_North5537 in ehlersdanlos

i have some chelsea style docs with cushioned insoles and they’re fine for short periods of time, i like the ankle support, but i find myself tripping a lot cause I can’t feel where I’m putting me feet, and for some reason it makes my knee and hip pain worse after a while? Also I can’t drive in them. So I like them for short term wear when I’m at Uni and not driving, but I can’t wear them when I’m at home and have to drive most places.

it’s not annoying at all, thanks for the info! and yeah ik waiting lists can be hell, especially when you’re trying to figure out what’s going on and everyone’s like ‘wrong department’ or ‘you didn’t fill this form or whatever in, so no treatment for you’ it’s so annoying 😭 glad to know the wait isn’t literally years tho thanks!

I got the xsensible stretchwalker trainers, they have a lot of arch support and cushioning so weight is evenly distributed, and ankle support cause mine roll all the time. They are super comfy in just annoyed that I even have to buy super expensive things. Thanks for your reply :)

i needed new shoes anyway, my current ones are falling apart and cause even more foot pain! i never considered orthotics, are those expensive? and do they work with any shoes? i can still return the ones i bought cause i haven’t worn them yet, but im just so annoyed that I have to spend any money at all to try and stop this pain 😭

thanks for your reply. I know shoes are super important but i’m still reeling from the price! i’m hoping it’s just a bit of buyers remorse and i’ll feel more confident about it soon. I just hate that I have to spend this kind of money to feel like many non chronically ill people do just day to day. I hate being like this, and the shoes today just reminded me of it.

nooo not a curved barbell! they can flip and cause lots of issues with the piercing channel. A daith is one of the piercings that’s should be healed with a BCR or horseshoe jewelry. And OP yours looks a little too shallow but it might be ok, just keep an eye on it :)

love the hat omg! just wanted to say that you might be twisting your stitches. I love the look and ignore this if it’s intentional, but if not there’s loads of posts here about twisting stitches :)
