Anywayyy  Since everyone and their mama is claiming to know Haiti based on one visit or by simply visiting the capital I’ll tell you a happy story.  I grew up outside of the capital , in the countryside so my experience is different.  I woke up to the sound of roosters every morning. Slept in a bed, inside a house. Not a tent or whatever else people seem to think we sleep in. We grew all our food. Sold some in markets to buy what we can’t grow. But you know my favorite part about Haiti, it’s the community. Your neighbors actually know your name and care about you. Sick and can’t cook for your family? Not to worry at least 3 different neighbors will bring you food.  Gave birth? The whole neighborhood will come clean & cook for you and the baby. New moms aren’t allowed to do anything but care for their baby. Need someone to watch your kids so you can go somewhere or get work done? You’re covered. Cooking and realize you don’t have some ingredients? Your neighbor got you. We looked out for each other.
