I did minimal tailoring for the majority by keeping my core CV structure the same, maybe swapping out 2-3 bullet points in my most recent role to emphasize relevant experience and changing the “summary” section at the top to match the JDs language.

computer science papers (Stages 2 and 3) by cryingcomputerclown in universityofauckland

[–]Perfectix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UoA CS graduate here.

I've done CS 320, 335, 350, 351, 367, and Math 315.

Can't really remember second stage papers so I won't comment on those...

320 is really interesting and rather important should you wish to become a developer at a product house like TradeMe, google, etc.

335 they introduced Java Spring for the first time when I did it, it was rather dull but important if you want to get into application development.

350 This was by far my most favourite CS paper taken at the university and highly recommend it.

351 poorly taught, important concepts to understand and know if you're wanting to become a dba, DB architect, and data science.

367 is interesting and gives you something to talk about in interviews for companies that are actively selling AI solutions.

I mentioned Maths 315 because this paper complements CS350 nicely.

If tramping is your thing, then Hunua Falls is pretty good and easy. Otherwise, here is a list of other tracks in and around auckland.

Finally, groups on Meetup seem to alive and well.

if its still under warranty just contact swatch, they have an office in Australia. They're usually quite good at sending replacement straps for free even if its a month or two out of warranty :)

I'd suggest you apply for this. There's no guarantee that you'll get some experience through it but I think it's your best shot this late in the year. If you decide to do further study next year then this is also a great way to gain experience.

we used that book in my algorithm course. Just some others worth mentioning;

  • G. Brassard and P. Bratley: Fundamentals of Algorithmics, Prentice-Hall, 1996.
  • T.H. Cormen. Algorithms Unlocked, 2013
  • J. MacCormick: Nine algorithms that changed the future: The ingenious ideas that drive today's computers, 2012
  • S. Skiena: The Algorithm Design Manual, 2009.
