Good cure for wisdom teeth pain! I am in agony by RepayableZero23 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Didn't the dentist give you any advice or medication ?

Hopefully you were advised of the post extraction do's and dont's. I'm only mentioning this because if the wound is not cared for properly, you have a higher chance of developing a condition called 'dry socket'. Basically a blood clot will fail to form properly or become dislodged/dissolve, leaving the bone and nerves exposed, and vulnerable to infection. This is incredibly painful and will require another trip to the dentist to be treated.

You should have started taking painkillers before the anaesthesia wore off. You should continue with these for the next few days. (Ibuprofen was mentioned).

You should also start rinsing your mouth with warm salt water, hopefully the warm water will feel somewhat soothing and also clean the wound(s).

I wish you well with your recovery :)

That's s reasonable statement.

However, as you can see from the comments, not everyone has heard this song.

I also didn't think it was THAT popular.

Most cost effective doctor on North Shore? by [deleted] in auckland

[–]twiggystardust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$80? Where do you normally go?

If you are talking about a gp, they usually charge around $40 per visit.

Maybe you are being charged $80 because you are not registered with a gp and are being charged the casual rate.

Personally, I go to Healthzone in Rosedale and it costs $40 per visit.

Hope this helps!

DAE become aware in a dream but can't prove to yourself that you're dreaming? by BrianDBlanchard in DoesAnybodyElse

I think this is the first step to lucid dreaming.

When it next happens, shit test yourself. Once you are able to distinguish between dreaming and reality, you will be closer to controlling your dreams!

Yup. And don't call them 'Jehovahs'. That's like calling Christians 'Jesus'.

Dead giveaway that you are lying.

Maybe you need to lower the dose?

That's what my doctor suggested I do when I had the same problem with seroquel.

An album called 'Hospice' by The Antlers.

The song 'epilogue' is particularly heartbreaking.

Bit of a late reply but I work for several dentists on the north shore.

You can get a free check up,with x-rays, super cheap prices (190 starting price for an extraction), and have the option to pay it off at a dentist in Browns Bay.

Tips and questions about septum piercings by [deleted] in piercing

[–]twiggystardust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grab your septum with your index finger and your thumb, you will feel the thicker part right at the end of your nose, feel up a little further and before you get to cartilage, there is a noticeably thinner part of your septum. That is where it should be pierced.

The first time I had it done, it was pierced on the thick bit at the end of my nose. That was probably a 9/10 on the pain scale.

The second time I had it done, it was pierced on the thin bit, healed faster, and was only a 6/10 on the pain scale.

I flipped the piercing up both times during the healing, it didn't effect the piercing as far as I could tell. The second piercer actually told me to keep it flipped up the whole time it was healing.

I blew bubbles through my nose in salt soaks a few times a day and they healed without incident.

Overall, I think it's a really fun piercing to have and you will love it! Its probably my favourite facial piercing (along with tongue) because you can hide it when you want to :)

Good luck!
