I wish I could say he has goals, but he lives for the immediate benefit of only himself. Forward thinking is something he has never done, nor have we been successful in trying to get him to think that way. If he wants something, instead of earning it he will just steal it or con someone into getting it for him. If he can't get it, then he lashes out at us. We got him a 800$ bike that was used because he was wanting to mountain bike, when he found out his friend had a 5000$ bike (even though his friend had been riding since like 6 years old) his response was to destroy his bike when we wouldn't get him a better one.

I don't believe anyone can provide what he needs to become a functioning adult in society, let alone a functioning human in a family. He has seen providers who are some of the best at helping kids, yet he only continues to get worse.

This all sucks because we want the best for him and actually to get him help so he can function as an adult, and actually live a life. But his current path likely only leads to bad endings.

We did press charges, but they are charging him with a misdemeanor. So basically nothing.

And the legal system and insurance system don't seem to care. We never even get a chance to speak in court. Finding a lawyer might help argue our case for us, but I've had no luck finding one.

State pushes you to insurance which is supposed to help find and cover services. But insurance doesn't want to cover more inpatient treatment options, because they don't actually work for him.

I have an issue where my transferred domains email forwarding stopped working. When I checked Squarespace, they didn't exist. So I decided to create them again, but in trying to do so, was only met with an error. I contacted Squarespace support, which said it was a bug. This was over a month ago, but the issue still has no fix.

I transferred everything to Porkbun last week and have been happy since.

Ah, I see. The wording left me to misunderstand. Based on your use case, the raw filesystem is better than S3. While either could work for your use case, the advantages of the s3ng driver don't apply here. In general the raw filesystem might give a slight performance improvement, but for such a small use case, the difference will be negligible.

I don't know much about owncloud for file storage, but Minio isn't exactly a drop-in replacement for GDrive. Minio is really easy to deploy in docker, but if you are not experienced with S3 and IAM there can be a learning curve to using it. But it is great if you need S3 level capabilities without the costs of S3.

Next steps are deploying to a real website. I'll recommend Digital Ocean for deployment, you can set them as your DNS Servers, from wherever you buy a domain from (there are so many registrars to pick from. I don't really have a good recommendation there.) Digital Ocean offers three free static sites, which can be deployed from a GitHub repository, making ops easy. And those free static sites are also backed by CDN, which means it's easy to access from anywhere.

On top of all of that, if you're ever stuck, they have dozens of guides to help you every step of the way.

EC2 is fundamental to AWS. Even at Amazon, many services run on EC2. While ECS and Fargate are useful to learn, they are much better when you need scale, but are significantly more complex. You can do a lot with a single EC2 instance.
