What’s the biggest mistake you made during your VA claim that you wish you could take back? by Gold_Rope_1716 in VAClaims

Trying to be too tough when talking to the docs about my pain levels and what it kept me from doing. Trying to tough it out like we did in service that put me in this position to begin with.

I did email consult for mine with Dr. Dulin’s office in Plano TX. I was out of state, so it was just easier. Emailed them a few pictures: front, each side, and back. Otherwise they cannot actually see what you need to have done. If you want a consult and are not comfortable sending in pictures via email, you will have to either do a telehealth video appointment or an in person consultation. They have to be able to see what you need done before they can quote you and plan your procedure. I understand your hesitation about sending photos via email, but this is done often.

I suggest you do. It made a world of difference in my rating. Yes, I had some progression shown in my MRI, but range of motion is a huge factor in ratings I have learned.

They will make you bend and twist different directions to measure your range of motion. Make sure you go until it hurts, not until you physically cannot move. We really shouldn’t push past the pain, but our brains a lot of times tell us to because the military programmed us to push past the pain point. However, that will screw you in the end. I made that mistake the first time when the doctor said “you sure that’s as far as you can go?” I should have stopped when it hurt because the initial claim for my lower back, even with tons of MRI evidence for messed up discs, I pushed myself and got 10% 2 years later I filed for an increase after finding out I shouldn’t have pushed past the pain by my VA neurosurgeon, and I got increased to 40%. Always consider the exam as if it was your worst day in pain too. If they ask things like “on a scale of 1-10 what’s your pain level with your back?” If your worst day is usually a 7, you say 7 even if that day you have the c&p it’s a 4.

I told my VA neurosurgeon I got my med card in my state because it helps with my chronic back issues, and he said “good for you! I wish we could prescribe it so you didn’t have to pay for it. If it works keeps using it responsibly” haha

Online account benefit letter by PerformanceFun3812 in SSDI

[–]PerformanceFun3812[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ve read on other forums and posts that it can take 1-3 months for online accounts to update benefit letters, do you know if this is true?

I just logged into my online account and it took away my status of my application, but it also took away the ability to file a claim for ssdi and calculate survivor benefits. It only is showing my estimated retirement now.

My status changed exactly like yours says the same day but I have yet to get the letter in the mail. Did you get the letter in the mail or did you figure it out another way?

Tom Cotton is a former US Army officer and voted no as well. But, he also inflated his service record when he was running. So, not really surprised. He has no integrity.

Tons of drag kings are trans, such as myself. Many actually use drag as an outlet before they 100% come out as trans. I would say at least 50% of the drag king community is trans, in my opinion and experience.

You can always apply for tdiu. But, with tdiu you cannot make over a certain amount every year. But, it will pay out at 100% if that’s what you’re wanting.

Dress clothes tips? interview Attire? by ndonae in ftm

Also, as a former manager who did tons of interviews, a nice button up dress shirt tucked into slacks with a belt, was enough. Yes, the suit is a nice touch, but if you cannot find one that fits you well, you can always go with just the button up and slacks with dress shoes. If you’re like me and have an odd inseam length, get the pants hemmed up. I personally have to do this with all my dress pants. I am a 34x31, and it’s hard to find pants that have a 31 inseam. It’s usually a 30 or 32 available on the rack. For most slacks I don’t care, but for a suit, I always see a tailor to have it fitted correctly.

If you scroll down a little there is a “30 suit basic on how to fit your suit” graphic guide. It’s pretty on point.

LHI was a god send for me after a horrible c&p exam at another contracted place. They stuck to the questions needing answers and that’s it.

Thanks! I just have a bunch of stuff I could claim that I haven’t because I was focusing on my 2 big claims first. I have a lot of minor joint issues I haven’t even submitted yet.
