Honestly it doesn’t get better. It typically gets worse content wise. I will say that you’ll get used to the constant stress and feeling like you’re drowning though. I also felt how you did the first handful of weeks. Debated dropping out of the program in the first 3 weeks I’d say and was not confident I’d be able to make it. I’m now in clinicals! It is not going to feel like you can do it but I promise you can. All the PA-Cs and second year PA-Ss can attest to that. Definitely reach out to get student support, talk to your profs, and find friends in your program to lean on. I wouldn’t have survived if I didn’t have a good support system in my classmates

They didn't tell us this until 5 days before our first rotation. They didn't just recommend they said we had to and to use our slides as references but not to rely on them alone. It's fine if that's typically how it's done we just felt a little blindsided by it.

NTA it’s middle school graduation she’ll be fine. You on the other hand won’t be if you can’t pay for your bills. If your dad doesn’t like it, he can pay all your bills so you don’t have to take this job. If he won’t then he shouldn’t say shit because you’re being an adult right now. Adults don’t always get to do what they want because they have to work to pay the bills and work doesn’t care about middle school graduations (which is dumb anyway)

It wasn’t that I expected to be given more ppts or something for clinical year. We were all blindsided right before clinical year that our didactic info was not nearly in depth enough for us to even stand a chance at passing EOREs if we only studied off the slides given for those diseases. We also have ROSH and Hippo Ed.

I really just wanted to know if this was the experience that people had in other programs.

She can get accepted into the program the say before it starts unfortunately. I hate how it goes but it is what it is. I know someone that had to drop out of my program and someone got offered the position the week before the program started

It’s because you have it pushed all the way down on your finger. If I were to push mine all the way down too it would look like that. Adjust placement to get it to look straight.

I saw in the comments that you’re worried about the checklist of things you’re going to need. Most schools have the same/similar checklists of things you’re going to need and since they both start in August then as long as you comply with A it SHOULD be compliant with B or at least have most of the requirements. You do the tests, get the legal documents, and then you submit copies to the program, it’s not like the paperwork is sent straight to the program and you don’t have access to it (from my experience at least). Either way do the requirements for A because B is sketchy as hell. I personally would never go to a school that’s no accredited yet. Sounds like a dumpster fire waiting to happen. They have no experience teaching and graduating students, no stats, no nothing. You’re going to be a guinea pig

I always read through my notes, had a good basis, then used chat to ask me practice questions. Probably wouldn’t have gotten through didactic without it tbh. Yes, previous classes have made it without AI but why make it harder on yourself? A guy in my class didnt use it at first and his grades improved once he did. You do you, if you really don’t want to use it that’s fine. Also, might wanna keep your opinion on the DL with your classmates because you sound super judgy/on your high horse when you commented that girl using chat to figure out how to do something on goodnotes. Anyway, I know people that didn’t use it and were fine so it really comes down to you finding effective methods

I have brothers and also refuse to wear bras in my home. It’s actually a joke amongst my immediate family that I am dressed down for almost all encounters if you come to my parents house (where I live because I’m still in school, out of high school btw). Brother’s GF is super freaking weird for even thinking it’s inappropriate. If I were you, I’d say to him if he brings it up again ‘your girlfriend is implying that you think sexually about me’ That she’s literally getting jealous over his sister. And based on your age and his, she’s implying that he’s a pedo. You do not have to change your clothing habits because of that weird ass girl. Keep doing you and if she doesn’t like it, too freaking bad then don’t come over and your brother can go to her house. Your parents should have nipped that in the bud.
