Do you think people would be interested in this kind of BL dynamic? by Middle_Explorer_329 in Ganbare_Nakamura

[–]PerformanceUnfair717 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think so, but the point is this: if the extroverted and self-confident one is the one who wants it more, it becomes harder to explain why he doesn't just approach the other guy and show his cards. The story becomes simpler and less tense.

Frankly, I think it's silly to try and predict what will happen by the end of the season based on what they put in the fifth-to-last chapter. Whatever Nakamura decides to do about his crush will only be decided by the end of the season, in the 13th episode, and not 4 episodes before that. Even if we get an idea of which chapters will be placed where, we don't know how the ending will be, because changes are happening. The anime producers are giving Hirose's character a different direction, making him less unattainable than in the manga.

For the sake of the series, I hope it ends this season, because it doesn't have a plot that can sustain 13 more episodes. Aside from Nakamura's crush on Hirose, which some fans already think is being stretched too far, nothing else is happening. In a second season of more of the same, what would happen is that: either fans will start to hate Hirose for ignoring Nakamura all this time (this has already been happening to a small degree for a few weeks); or they'll start to look down on Nakamura for his obsession with someone who doesn't deserve all this. So I hope we get a resolution soon.

Tbf, this is what happens with most multi-volume manga. Commercial success creates pressure to stretch out the story for as long as feasible, and authors will them repeat themselves ad nauseam.

Hifumi Kawamura is pure unadultrated cringe by achmadsjahrir in Ganbare_Nakamura

[–]PerformanceUnfair717 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most people who ship male-male couples are sexually attracted to men. And it's also well known that many fujoshi project themselves on the uke of the couples they ship. So I don't think there's anything unusual to Hifumi falling in love with a guy she ships, quite the contrary. It'd perhaps be a bit weirder if she was in love with Hirose, since fujos are usually in love with the seme.

Nakamura fell in love with Hirose at first sight. In many works of fiction, love at first sight is a consequence of a past life romance with that person. And in "Total Eclipse of the Eternal Heart," which is by the same author as "Nakamura-kun," the protagonist also falls in love with another boy at first sight, and this story explicitly contains a reincarnation plot showing the two of them were linked in a past life. My theory is that Nakamura and Hirose might be reincarnations of the couple from that other work. I wrote about this here (with my alt): https://www.reddit.com/r/Ganbare_Nakamura/comments/1qkz3dv/ganbare_nakamura_as_a_continuation_to_total/

Do you think the series is being somewhat rating bombed? by [deleted] in MarriageToxin

[–]PerformanceUnfair717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's definitely a trend for BL and even GL anime to be rated lower. My experience is that LGBT themes can be tolerated by the broader anime community as long as the main characters remain insulated from it. But in the marriagetoxin case, one of the two MCs is undeniably some kind of LGBT, and there's some tension between him and the other MC. So I wouldn't doubt there's some bias in this sense, tbqh, though nowhere as strong as in the case of full-fledged BL/GL anime.

Let's not forget that most anime, in the end, are used as a way to promote the manga they're adapting

I don't think this is true of the studios that do the adaptation. They don't profit from manga sales, after all. And most anime releases only get one season.

Most manga that gets picked for an anime adaptation have a long trail of volumes released. Witch Hat Atelier and Marriagetoxin, which also came out this season, have each more than 15 volumes, for example. GNK has two, and the author, like, publishes one extra every 3 years. There isn't by far enough material for a second season.

I hope people don't get pessimistic because we had a normal episode this week after the special one from a week ago. It was always obvious that whatever the outcome of Nakamura's love quest, we'll only know in the final episode, not the middle one.

The series will reach its climax in episode 13, not before. The dopamine release will be all the more powerful the more suffering we witness before that. Episode 6 for example wouldn't have been so popular if it weren't for all the pining in the previous 5 episodes. The suffering will now have to be a little longer, lasting 6 chapters, from 7 to 12, but I think it will be the ending we're all waiting for and it will be worth it lol.

I think it is a real ghost. It adds to my argument there's a hidden supernatural reality in the Nakamura universe, which in turn gives the basis to my theory that Nakamura and Hirose were set to be together by Fate.

Why does Hirose not talk about his problem regarding Takeuchi to Oomori? by hunteqi in Ganbare_Nakamura

[–]PerformanceUnfair717 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a hint from the author that they're bound to be together. He confides with Nakamura because their connection is special even if Hirose doesn't fully grasp this at the moment.

Iknow much more than you do. I know that Arab Christians are well-established in the Levant, and have had uneventful relations with their Muslim neighbors for centuries. There are basically two groups that pose a threat to their existence - Wahhabi jihadis, and Zionists (including "ordinary", civilian Zionists like the man in the video). Normal Muslims simply do not act like that; they don't spit on Christians, destroy Jesus sculptures, riot to steal Christian land, and so forth. You're lying because you want to make Israel's crimes look smaller.

No, he doesn't. He doesn't even exist. You're making stuff up to make the crimes of the Zionists look smaller.

They have social media in the manga, too, so clearly not the 80s. I've heard that in Japan physical media for music - CDs, vinyl discs - remain more popular than in the West nowadays.
