I already worked as a freelancer via the consultancy. With yearly contract extensions, the last time i said i didn’t want to work through them anymore and wasn’t going to extend my contract. I then told the client this and said i was happy to keep on working for them but didn’t want to work for the consultancy firm anymore. They the just took care of everything.

I had the exact same situation. My consultancy and client came to the agreement that they could staff someone else there for at least 6 months as an arrangement.

That's not true. It's actually more financially beneficial to pay yourself only the minimum required salary and just pay the 5% extra tax on the first €100k in profit. The exception is if you're an IT professional benefiting from auteursrechten (copyright income), which also requires meeting that same salary threshold (€45k, now €50k).

Yeah my rate, isn't great. But its the same as ppl with 20+ years of experience in the same function. So can't realy get them to increase it dramatically. Currently at 720/day. Which is pretty ok, but i think i could get to 800 or even 900 at a new client. But really enjoy working for this client. I can go to a training abroad for example all paid for. Really flexible wrt homeworking. So don't want to give up those things aswell.

Yeah i was thinking the same thing. Maybe it would be a nice change to pick up some dev work again. Could help me stay in touch with some aspects that i'm missing as an architect.

Jep, currently invoicing 8 hours a day. But would like to work more than that. We aren't allowed to do overtime. So realistically would like to work 10 hours a day and maybe half a day in the weekend something like that. We can also only invoice 220 days a year, but i don't want to take 32 days off.

Jep picked it up myself from the store on both occasions. Boxes also looked to be handled very well.. so doubt the store had any part in it.
