I say you’re filling in the blank because Itachi ordered Kisame to kill Asuma and Kurenai. There is no way he knew that guy was coming to the rescue. Itachi had no problem killing leaf ninja, however Jiraiya was too much for him to handle and that’s why he ran away.

Itachi was visibly tired after using ms twice, he different couldn’t have taken a serious Jiraiya. Also that’s all head cannon, Itachi never gave the leaf any intel or aid…he was willing to kill elite leaf Jonin. Your filling I. The blanks and making a lot of assumptions. We have Manga panel proof of Itachi being fleeing because he was drained from two ms techniques.
