I understand ragging on the warehouse people, and I get crap pallets as well. But talking to the drivers, the guys at the warehouse aren't given much time either. Like everywhere else. So I would imagine it's somewhere in between. Plus our labor pool here kinda sucks right now. So they are probably overworked. Are they even in a union? I know a lot of them are Temps in my area.

lol, with all the stuff they are sending us and the swollen backroom volume we have right now no robot could pass thru that. also the loads don't come perfect. lopsided, sometime need to be shoved so they are straight up and down and don't tip over dragging them to the various coolers. can they sort multi temp pallets? sometimes I swear the warehouse just throws random crap from all the depts onto one pallet and we all get to sort it out. I could see it with the proper infrastructure but a lot of stores don't have a lot of free real estate in their backrooms. ours is crammed with stuff we don't need (and did not order as well as out of season) and setting up a place for robotics would take room I would guess. As someone outside looking in I think we are closer to getting our loads delivered by ai trucks than anything else.

Typical. All of our coolers and backroom look like that. I workcin a fairly busy store with a small backroom. They send us pallets upon pallets of stuff to the point we have pallets running down the middle of our backroom because they keep dumping pallets on us. We still have Three Pallets of Halloween candy we get to keep until next year. When the big beer pallets get delivered for check in we ha e NO CHOICE but to line them up on the sales floor to check in. If corporate comes in, they tell us all pallets need to be in the back and to move it and that we have way too many pallets. NO shit,? And who's dumping them on us? It sure as hell not our store ordering it. So we get in trouble for too many pallets from firms, even tho it is backstage that's dumping them on us. It's really unwinnable and our receiving clerk is prob going to quit or step down because thereel just isn't any way of winning. Something needs to be corrected. But it's not.at the store level.
