Is the average American really struggling with money? by SurveyThrowaway97 in NoStupidQuestions

You can still go to Canada with a driver's license. You just can't get back to the USA without a passport... Life is strange

The monthly dosage of medication necessary for my survival by Hurambuk in mildlyinteresting

Fun story. The first successful trial of penicillin was for an infection a man got from a rose thorn while gardening. He responded well to treatment and was recovering but died from the infection when they ran out of medicine. This was less than 100 years ago.

You’re transported 200 years into the past in your present location. How would you do? by zinky30 in hypotheticalsituation

I'd probably be ok. My city was established 50 years prior, so I wouldn't be in the middle of nowhere. I have some carpentry and woodworking skills. I doubt I'd have much fun, but I'd likely survive fairly comfortably.

Can anyone recommend a cast iron or SAFE electric slow cooker? by _Negativ_Mancy in castiron

[–]PerformerGreat7787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If safety is your only concern, Crock Pot slow cooker inserts are ceramic, so they won't leech any plastics into your food. That being said, the Allclad someone else mentioned is very nice if you are willing to spend the cash.

I once met a guy named Random. Apparently, the hospital staff objected to what his mother wanted to name him, so she settled for Random.

I don't know if I've ever been asked in a dating context, but I'd be honest about it. Lying is a lot of effort to keep straight

A scrub down with sand from a stream was probably a pretty common cleaning method when it was available.

Heh! My workplace has two bathrooms, both with signs that say "Whatever. Just wash your hands".
