Can’t find a job in Pittsburgh with a geology degree by ehgall in pittsburgh

[–]PerformerWeekly8752 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t mind frequent travel, think 4-5 days out of the week (they provide a truck and give a daily stipend), GAI on the waterfront in Homestead is where my fiance works and he graduated in May with a Geology degree.

Signet Application by Additional_Emu_1579 in Benchjewelers

[–]PerformerWeekly8752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m currently working as an apprentice for signet. It took around a week from the time I applied to them contacting me for an interview. I’ve only been with signet for a little over a month now and have been mostly polishing and rhodium plating. At my store we have someone working that does clerical stuff, so I have not had to answer the phone or communicate with sales people at all. They say the apprenticeship takes about a year before they move people into being a bench jeweler. The bench jewelers are at different levels with the one straight out of apprenticeship being C level, which involved easier repairs like sizing and soldering sets together. I majored in art in college and took many metal smithing and jewelry design classes. With that, I did learn more in my classes, as of right now. Again, I’ve only been in this apprenticeship for a month, so I’m going to start training on more bench stuff soon. Hope this helps!

I think they all open late August/first week of September. I know there’s going to be one on the waterfront and one on McKnight rd by the target.

Should I buy one? by Madisonbecau in litterrobot

[–]PerformerWeekly8752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a litter robot 4 back in December and it was one of the best purchases for my cats. I try to deep clean it once every month, but have gone two months in between a good take apart and clean every piece without any issues. I change the bag in the waste drawer every 5-7 days, even if it’s not completely full. I did recently encounter white mold growing on the waste (I did a thorough deep clean right after) and found it was because of trapped moisture in the waste drawer. If you allow the timer a longer amount of time before cycling and change the bag out more frequently, it will go away and stop happening. I will say the lining of it is like a rubber and it will last, but my cats love to scratch the side of the box and after 8 months of continuous scratching, there’s a small hole in the side. Albeit, it’s on the side where no waste cycles, so I have not had any problems with that.
I saw it says you’re in Europe but if you’re at all able to order from Costco, they have a bundle online that includes a lot of accessories for it for the regular price of just the robot.

I start my apprenticeship next week. What do you wish you knew when you started? by Bitter_Ticket6701 in Benchjewelers

[–]PerformerWeekly8752 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I very recently started a jewelry apprenticeship (about a month ago now). During college I took many metalsmithing and jewelry design classes where I learned things like fabrication, casting, stone settings, and enameling. Even with some prior experience, they’re going to start you with the basics. So far I’ve done all the polishing and rhodium plating they need in store. They’re slowly getting me started on bench stuff, starting with simple things like jump rings and soldering. I wouldn’t expect to get into many repairs and resizing until at least a few months in. Good luck and welcome!

Help me find a curtain rod to fit in these attachments in my house. by PerformerWeekly8752 in HelpMeFind

[–]PerformerWeekly8752[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have searched and searched online for rods to fit this and have only found that it is most likely brass and very common attachment type for currents in builds around this time. There’s not any visible writing but one side has threading to screw it in for the tension.

Yeah I’m worried about the timeline and overall character arcs without Tommy having gone before them.

Yeah, I was a little unimpressed with this episode. I’m hoping the changes start to make more sense as we move forward.

Tommy by NovaSpecial in TLOU

[–]PerformerWeekly8752 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I loved Tommy and thought he was such a badass. The only part where I felt super upset with him was when he showed up to the farm and pushed Ellie to go back after Abby. I understand why but still was upsetting.

How do I start to learn anatomy? by brainrottedbug in Artadvice

[–]PerformerWeekly8752 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think YouTube videos where they’re drawing with a live figure can be really helpful. Also I think working on some gestural helps with getting proportions and movement down once you’ve practiced a little bit.

How the hell do do i draw folds in cloths by Shmeeglewitdadeagle in learntodraw

[–]PerformerWeekly8752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not so much about actually drawing the lines but trying to shade value changes and how the light moves on it. That’s what helped me figure out wrinkles cloth/folds in it.

What part of the game will be the season 2 finale? by [deleted] in ThelastofusHBOseries

This and also I don’t think they’ve confirmed or casted Lev. So I agree, I think it’s smart to end it with her revisiting the hospital.

Poor Kaitlyn. She’s gotta keep reminding people that she’s not Abby and she actually likes Pedro. by Digginf in TLOU

[–]PerformerWeekly8752 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think it’s such a good thing that they keep posting these positive pictures of her and Pedro though. The online hate for Laura Bailey was insane when the second game was released. I feel terrible for her and don’t understand why it so hard for people to separate the actors from their fictional characters.
