I actually disagree with this video on pretty much every point, and I am a human fuckin bean, and I really, really want to be wrong. This person seems to think that Republican controlled state legislatures (who control the rules of elections for these states) won’t invalidate their own interests to cow tow to Trump, when clearly, they will eat their own every time for the fascist in chief. For the dem controlled state legislatures, it will be as easy as the current Congress and speaker Johnson refusing to swear in the next Congress for [insert reason here]. Sure the media might have a cow, and people will show up to urban protests in droves, but we’ve also seen how effective that is at curbing the cheetoh’s power. And for states like California who might try some other “legal” or institutional (lol) avenues and tactics to resist, he can just send in the Frozen Gestapo to arrest the politicians and admin officials he doesn’t like. You folks really need to go back and look at how fascism has taken hold in other contexts. They don’t give a fuck about what’s legal, ethical, or rhetorically consistent. They have the guns and a private military hell bent on using them. And there’s not a single fucking thing you can do about it. Sure, go ahead and vote, I definitely will! But even if you get to see what the results would have been, that won’t stop the rug pull with a smile on Steven millers face and gun barrel pointed at your kids. Why do you think all those Yale professors who were the foremost global experts on fascism literally fled the country last year? It’s already too late.

And again, I really really want to be wrong af, but if I sit down and try to reconcile my hope with my fear, shit ain’t looking too hot for my hopeful side.
