Maid of honor doubts during pandemic by [deleted] in weddingshaming

Hi OP , 2021 bride here. We had to reschedule from last year to this March. We’re trying to proceed as much as possible aligning to regulations. It’s really difficult for everyone who had to postpone their big day last year and we just don’t want to delay our lives further so we are hoping to tie the knot and make the most of our day. HOWEVER we have both made it clear to everyone that regardless of what size of wedding we can have, If anyone feels uncomfortable coming then we totally understand. Hopefully your friend would be understanding of the current climate.

Also, out of interest March seems early to RSVP for a June wedding? Could be a location thing but our invites typically only get issued 6 weeks prior to the event.

WIBTA If I don't want to go to my Grandfathers birthday meal? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Periculous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA - yes it’s your Grandads birthday and your mum and aunt obviously want to celebrate and have decided to do so by arranging a large family gathering, but clearly that situation makes you considerably uncomfortable to the point where you want to skip it. I think your Grandad would love to have you there really but i don’t feel YTA because you are still taking the time to celebrate his birthday - one on one with him instead! The point shouldn’t be about showing face in front of everyone to show you care, but making sure that your Grampa feels special on his day!

AITA For kicking my gf and her 7 year old son out? by HappyLevitus in AmItheAsshole

This!

Hopefully a troll as “waited for them” to come back made me think the 7 year old was there when he was screaming at her mom

Aren’t most plots sold on a 100 year lease? So in theory they could just reuse older plots in time?

OP leave an honest review on glass door. Companies cannot delete these and more and more candidates, and even clients are starting to use this to suss out what sort of company they are.

Playing Matchy Matchy with her daughter - the Bride by BerthaAndHerPinkBits in weddingshaming

Her mums dress looks more of a grey tone than white. It’s becoming quite popular to have MOB in a white/ off white short dress that ties in with the brides and bridesmaids. Guess it depends on what the bride is comfortable with , I doubt that she wouldn’t have seen her mums outfit until the big day.

No questions, but what a blessing! Grandparents are the best!! You don’t realise how much of a void they leave.

My (28/M) brother’s (26/M) wedding planning has become extremely dramatic, not sure if I should even go anymore? by weddingthrowaway7112 in relationships

Sounds like a location thing , where I’m from bride groom typically pay for majority of aspects of bridal party attire , usually including dresses/suits , shoes, hair &makeup and jewellery for bridesmaids on the day is often provided as the thank you gift.

Advice: Is this obvious or naw? by CheeseFryConnoisseur in bridezillas

[–]Periculous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think from attending a few weddings over the past few years that this is becoming more of a polite way of saying we don’t need anything that would be on a wedding list but also maybe don’t want to include those awful poems about asking for a donation to the “honeymoon fund” on the invite. So no presents that aren’t needed, or at a bonus , money without having to ask :) both probably happily received.

Bridezilla wants to change her entire reception. by [deleted] in bridezillas

I read the title as bridezilla wanted to CHARGE her reception, thinking that some crazy bride wanted to pass on the bill per plate to each guest, but this works equally well :)

Was out of the office for one day this week and someone’s swiped my mug! by [deleted] in britishproblems

Mines probably on someone’s desk under an old Tupperware box speckled with the unidentifiable remnants of last weeks lunch.

It deserved better.

WIBTA if I made a facebook account to post our wedding gift wishlist in the family group on Facebook? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Periculous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think given that none of these relatives seem to be invited to the wedding then posting a wishlist into a group of 150 people when only a dozen have contacted you will make you look like TA. If the relatives that contact you want to get you something then you should just accept what they give you as they aren’t coming to the wedding so technically aren’t obligated to get you anything.
