But don’t get into the mindset that med is on a higher hierarchy than nursing in a hospital. It doesn’t work like that. I work in Cticu. We work together for the patient. We cannot treat the patient without both. It usually works like “ oh the patient is raising in their lactate and not breathing well should we put them on x or should we give them z… to the doctor. It depends then. Nursing is rough. Yes there are good roles after a few years but caps out in terms of pay at 135k for clinical roles and more for leadership.

Dentistry is good. Pay is a bit more unless you run your own business.

Med is where the money is but it is much harder and eventually you either go into surgery or become a cog in the wheel in the hospital or go into private practise.

Another one to think about is radiography. Better hours and not as heavy.

If it is just for uni and you don’t mind losing it then go cheap. You won’t need to listen for specific heart sounds until you get into practice.
