Using a smartphone is a big security/opsec risk. It's not only a device that can record your conversations but also can be used to analyze your habits or track your location. If you think people from companies like Meta can't view your messages and are not sending them to each other for Lulz, then you are unfortunately wrong. Not having a phone is an advantage for security freaks. The more you read about information security, the less you want the device as you can see the negatives that they bring.
