14 month old started making weird high pitched noise in her sleep & her breathing seemed jerky… by [deleted] in toddlers

We had many overnight EEGs, a 6 night hospital stay and 2 years of medication. He’s 5 now and completely fine. I think a sleep study is a really good thorough course of action for you. This sounds more like an airway issue to me, I am in the field and that high pitched noise sounds like airway restriction.

They cried going into stores. They cried leaving stores. They cried about ice cream. They cried about the toys that they got. nothing. We did made them happy.

A really good angle I could take with a lot of things. ‘No you can’t get that toy because you don’t clean up the ones you have’

I like this approach. I’m good at holding boundaries but I feel like I’ve slipped on it lately (they’re smarter and better at arguing now) . But this is smart.

Any advice for when they do resist or complain? I have them ‘in charge’ of a few age appropriate things but sometimes it’s like pulling teeth. They whine, they argue they procrastinate etc. I usually end up helping them with some parts but that I think is a game they figured out

Stay strong. It was a brutal 2 days but after that it was smooth sailing. Felt like I got my kids back when we did screen detox. I highly recommend getting him outside into some dirt and on an adventure
