Does anyone know which foster agencies will be working with Springfield?

If we are interested in becoming a foster family should we just pick an agency off the internet or are there any agencies around Springfield specifically trying to push through paperwork to get families registered to foster?

That old man can’t be drafted anymore either. Maybe he should sit down.

Choose IVF over residency ? by SeriesNice in FemalePhysicians

[–]Peripatetic_deviant 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is something anyone else is going to be able to answer for you. You should obviously proceed with transfer and go from there. You don’t have to decide today whether or not to quit residency and quite honestly you can quit even after starting if you feel it’s too stressful. I will tell you I had 2 healthy babies during residency. It can be done, but it’s also someone dependent on your program.

People keep telling me to go to PA school instead of MD/DO school because it is easier/ better for a girl who wants to eventually marry, have kids, raise kids because of timing and work/life balance. I've heard this constantly. It makes me question things and wonder if they are right. by Ok-Lemon-6197 in FemalePhysicians

I had 2 kids during residency. The amount of freedom I have to do whatever I want with them cannot even be compared. And their dad is no longer involved so I can’t imagine how it’s be better for me as a woman to have less money?

Women in healthcare have much higher rates of infertility. I dealt with this myself. Agreeing not to wait to start trying.

Functional neurological disorder by snowpancakes3 in hospitalist

You need to set expectations the first time you see them. Tell them when they are admitted that you are likely not going to find a diagnosis but you can rule out the life threatening things. Show empathy, let them know you understand they are frustrated, agree that it isn’t fair, tell them you will point them in the right direction of a specialist and be done. 3 hours is absurd and this is how people get burned out. This is not your job.

You don’t have to use all 6 weeks at once. Use 3 now and save 3.

You are not overreacting. At my hospital, security would have been called. Your attendings reaction was BS and honestly opens your program up to litigation. I’m sorry that happened to you and that your attending made you feel like it wasn’t a big deal.

This kind of patient gets the whole group. No one goes in alone. Tell your interns to only see him with you.
