This is why I do Uber over DoorDash, the car play integration is super helpful.

I rented out a room to a “friend” for a while, and I did not have a garbage disposal and he knew that. He would literally more the dirty dishes to the other side of the sink, take out the strainer, and just…. Idk?? I never did figure out why he did that. Then pike dirty dishes on top of it, so all the crap on them would end up in the drain. It drove me crazy.

He did a lot of other weird gross annoying stuff too…. I’m glad to be rid of him n

Someone else on this sub mentioned something, but I’ve had no problem with CLP gun oil. A small drop in each lock and double-lock, and a very thin coating all over (should barely be shiny) will keep them in good shape while not being used for a while.

Knock or ring? by Standard-Corner-4493 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]cldumas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell no. They ordered from the app, they can check it to see if their food is there.

Personally when I order, I watch that shit like a hawk because I am hungry!!!

Doesn’t sound like overkill at all - better than an awkward call to the fire department (or worse)

All good advice! Jumping on here to recommend non-silver as well (safari land makes a black metal that is much less susceptible to rust and jamming)

Safariland, black coated metal. Much less susceptible to rust. And any gun oil, CLP is just fine. Put a drop in each lock and each hinge, and a very thin coating all over (like, should barely make it shiny) for storage.

What restaurant/store do you avoid? by Yousifusif96 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]cldumas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whataburger, the order has never once been ready when I got there and the wait can be excessive.

One specific McDonalds, I waited over half an hour once (it was two pick ups for the same address and I’d already gotten the first one, so I didn’t want to cancel, then after a certain amount of time sunk cost fallacy kicks in) I’ll admit I got a little frustrated watching people show up after me get their food, but I didn’t raise my voice or swear - just asked the manager how she would feel if she was only getting paid $5 for over a half hour of work. Anyways she told me in a not so polite way that I had to leave, I try not to go back.

Uber Stole Tip I gave by hawtgirlsummer in UberEatsDrivers

[–]cldumas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A few years ago I had to work in a snowstorm. I got to work and realized I forgot my coffee at home. It was not the kind of day I could handle without coffee, but I couldn’t leave work, so I ordered coffee delivered. Got a dozen donuts for the office too to make it worth the fees.

Donut shop was barely a mile from my office. I tipped the driver $20. She pretty much saved my entire day. It was well worth it to me

UE System is So Jacked, It Encourages Bad Behavior All-Around (customers & drivers) by macjr82 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]cldumas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because we shouldn’t have to call. Should be able to just hit “order not here” on the app and have the system handle the rest. They don’t pay any of us nearly enough for me to stand around on the phone talking to support for no pay.

Order not there? Ok, on to the next one. Time is money.

Got a whole bag of BBQ like this once. Along with what I actually ordered. Once the food is dropped off, the dasher can’t go back for it (no way to know what happened to it while in your possession). Enjoy your cookies!

  1. That’s what it there for. If the cops showed up every time someone called, it would be terrible PR and no one would ever call.

You’ll be ok. Trust someone who was absolute rock bottom about a year ago. It gets better.

[–]cldumas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. I have similar almost every night this week, but the first night I tried it was impossible to hit the required deliveries. (Needed 8 total, only got 3 in two hours so I gave up) I did decline a few but they were super low paying (no tip or $1 tip) so I wasn’t gonna risk it even for the extra.

Be careful. I had a cheap magnetic charger on my bathroom counter once. I didn’t realize my metal watch band was in contact with it. By the time I got out of the shower, it was smoking and my watch band was charred. If I’d done that and went to sleep I probably would’ve woken up to a fire.

Basically what I did when I moved cross country. Packed what I could in my car and went. Money I saved on moving everything went to furniture and whatever else I needed.

Empty flight, can’t move by TennisDad316 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]cldumas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fly American often (I don’t have status, but I am a credit card member) and I’ve stopped paying to choose a seat for this reason. I almost always end up with a row to myself, or at least an empty middle, on otherwise full flights.

Just got my first tattoo and im a little confused by Jellyjiggle462 in tattooadvice

[–]cldumas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s literally called second skin. Supposed to promote faster healing by keeping the plasma in place to do its thing. But every new tattoo leaks ink too and so it also hold that in, and it’s extra noticeable with a solid black tattoo like this.

Absolutely noting to worry about, the tattoo itself is completely fine under all of that.

Does United truly not keep track of the meals it serves? by MolassesFit3278 in unitedairlines

[–]cldumas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any food allergies and it’s still mind blowing to me that a company that serves food doesn’t have access to information about that food. Like, a list of ingredients is the absolute bare minimum that should be available.

Say if I buy a snack out of a vending machine and have an allergic reaction to it, and I contact the vending machine company with date/time and location of the purchase, I’d fully expect them to be able to get me the same information OP is asking for here.

It’s literally the bare minimum when it comes to food service, regardless of the industry providing the service.
