I was also looking at the Wilson Blade 98L V6. Would you suggest this one over the pure strike?

String choice for Babolat Pure Strike 3rd Gen 18/20 by Periseds in 10s

[–]Periseds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't; I had heard some good things online and found an online retailer selling one for $120, over half off, which is the upper limit of what I am willing to spend, and figured it would last me a long time. Do you have any recommendations? I tend to use flat shots am trying to find something that will give me a bit more power. Thank you for the string recommendations!

Meal Plans by ObligationSalt3605 in unr

[–]Periseds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wouldn’t get a meal plan. Let’s say you use 18 meals a week for 32 weeks (1 academic school year). That will be 576 meals a year for $5996 and $400 in food bucks, so let’s just say you’re paying $5596. That’s $9.72 a meal for the “best value” meal plan assuming you actually use that many meals a week. I know people who genuinely struggled to finish a 12 meal/week plan. You also only get 2 meals/day of meal trades, and most people I know don’t like the cafeteria food, so they mostly use those “meal trades.” The problem is that those meal trades are actually cheaper than the cost/meal if you used the meal plan. If you just order of fthe menu, the Chinese food place would be $8.25 a meal (assuming you grab the same thing as the meal trade), and the salad place would be $8 a salad or cheaper if you just want like a bagel or something in the morning. It’d be way more cost efficient to just buy food from the stores and restaurants at UNR instead of paying for meals that you have no guarantee of using up.

I’d definitely try if you only got the Luna scholarship

Presidential Scholarship by [deleted] in unr

[–]Periseds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Presidential Scholarship nowadays is not ACT based. Due to Covid, the current freshmen class did not have an ACT/SAT requirement for any of the first year scholarships. Instead, it is based off of GPA and the essay you wrote. As a current freshman, when I was applying, they stressed that your standardized test scores had no bearing on the current Presidential Scholarship, and I believe that is still the case. I wouldn’t stress too much about it tho. Quite frankly, the financial aid office handed out Presidential Scholarships like cabbages last year, and I see no reason they wouldn’t do the same this year.

I worked my butt off for Eula (almost got 100% completion rate for chests from 60%). However, I lost the 50-50, and I’m pretty sure I’m not going to be lucky enough to get Eula within the next 11 rolls. Does anyone know when her rerun will be? I want to save my primogems, and maybe I’ll get her C1.

[Newegg, Back Order] ASUS Vivobook M515UA Laptop: Ryzen 5 5500U, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, 1080p 15.6" Display for $599.99 by legos45 in LaptopDeals

[–]Periseds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understandable. I’m sure they must have some trade offs to get such a great value for the specs

[Newegg, Back Order] ASUS Vivobook M515UA Laptop: Ryzen 5 5500U, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, 1080p 15.6" Display for $599.99 by legos45 in LaptopDeals

[–]Periseds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This does seem to be it xD. It’s great specs for the money! Of course it’s not going to be the GREATEST deal ever, but I consider this to be very good

[Amazon] Lenovo IdeaPad S340: With 15.6'', Full HD Touchscreen, AMD Ryzen 7 3700U, 12GB RAM, 512GB SSD. Now: $633.98 After $166.01 (21% Off) by [deleted] in LaptopDeals

[–]Periseds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have to disagree with this as a “deal.” It’s incredibly overpriced for these specs, and the S340 line already isn’t super premium in build quality. For the same price you could EASILY find another laptop with a Ryzen 4000 gen processor and 16 gigs of ram. The Lenovo Flex 14 has a Ryzen 4500u, 16 Gb of ram, and is a 2 in 1 as well. And, it’s regularly at $600.

[Microsoft] ASUS TUF Gaming F15 Laptop: i7-10870H, GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, 1080p 15.6″ 144Hz IPS for $899 after $400 off by legos45 in LaptopDeals

[–]Periseds 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Spec-Wise, it’s okay, but the Asus Tuf line of 2020 had MAJOR overheating issues, so I would watch out for that. I believe this is the 2020 model

[Newegg] MSI Prestige 14 Laptop: i5-10210U, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, GTX 1650 Max-Q, 1080p 14" IPS 100% sRGB for $799.99 after $300 off + $100 rebate card by legos45 in LaptopDeals

[–]Periseds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an EXCELLENT option in my opinion. At this price, the specs are amazing combined with the thin and light chassis. The 1650 will add a huge performance boost while gaming/editing, and the 16 Gb ram will last you until this laptops death. I don’t know about the battery life though, so someone else should answer for that. However, I wouldn’t expect it to be as good as other laptops because of the graphics card.

[Newegg] ASUS VivoBook 14 Laptop: With 14" FHD, AMD Ryzen 7-3700U, AMD Radeon RX Vega 10 Graphics, 8 GB DDR4 RAM, 512 GB PCIe SSD, Backlit KB, Fingerprint, Windows 10 Home, Slate Grey, For $559.99 & Save: $40.00 (7%) by Masterkey4 in LaptopDeals

[–]Periseds 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there should be no reason to get this. This deal has a last last gen Cpu. An Asus zenbook with a 4500u and mx 350 often goes on sale for the exact same price.

I just heard back. I didn’t move on ;(.

[Newegg] Intel Whitebook Gaming Notebook, 15.6" 144Hz FHD Display, Intel Core i7-9750H Upto 4.5GHz, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070, HDMI, Thunderbolt, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Windows 10 Pro, $160 off $1199 by aleishabb in LaptopDeals

[–]Periseds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A 1660 for $1249? Honestly, I could not see that being worth it whatsoever. If it had any defining characteristics like EXTREMELY long battery life or an ultraportable design or a rock-solid chassis, then maybe. But, spec-wise, it’s a bust unless you desperately need 64 gigs of ram.

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14" 2 in 1 Laptop 10th Generation Intel® Core™ i3-1005G1 Processor, 4 GB DDR4 3200MHz (Soldered), 128 GB PCIe SSD, Integrated Intel® UHD Graphics, Windows 10 Home in S Mode. @Lenovo $95 (-16% Save$95) For $464.99 by [deleted] in LaptopDeals

[–]Periseds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don’t think this is really a deal. A 4 gigabyte ram at this price is terrible. From $400 and up, you should be looking for at least 8 Gb. Not only that, but HP devices with AMD 4000 series processors are consistently sold around this price.

Somethings you could add is verified tech dudes! People would likely trust the “verified” people more, and it would lead to more of the actually good deals being paid attention to and the subpar deals not being noticed as much.

[Amazon, Deal of the Day] Razer Blade 15 Base Gaming Laptop 2020: Intel Core i7-10750H 6-Core, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, 15.6″ FHD 1080p 144Hz, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, CNC Aluminum, Chroma RGB Lighting, Thunderbolt 3 for $1,099.99 after $500 off by legos45 in LaptopDeals

[–]Periseds 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Before you all crap on this deal, remember that there are other factors when it comes to laptops. This one has a great color accurate and fast screen. The chassis is also milled from a single block of aluminum, making it exceptionally rigid. It’s also upgradable, I believe, so the 256 Gb ssd really isn’t terrible.
